I don’t rent cars nearly as often as I used to given the ubiquity of Uber and Lyft. However I really like Silvercar and wish they were in more cities, and really like Silvercar discounts even more.

Delta Caribbean & Central America Award Sale Roundtrips From 14,000 Miles
Delta is running a sale on coach awards between the U.S. 48 Continental states and the Caribbean and Central America. They say prices start at 16,000 miles but awards are available for less.
Hyatt Cash & Points Award ‘Sale’ Book Quickly
Hyatt is pricing several properties for less than the cash and points award chart says they should be. We’ll call this ‘an unadvertised sale’ and one I don’t expect to last for long.
Fare Alert: Business Class Roundtrip to Singapore Less Than $2000
Star Alliance airlines ANA and United — with flights within North America sometimes on Air Canada — are offering business class roundtrips between Toronto or Vancouver and Singapore for less than $2000.
It’s a great opportunity to see Singapore, one of my favorite cities — or to use it as a jumping off point for visiting other cities in Asia. And the deal is good enough that it may make sense to position to Canada for this fare.
New More Expensive Award Prices From IHG Rewards Club
New higher-priced top redemption category, hotels can cost up to 70,000 points per night rather than 60,000.
499 hotels go up in category (cost more points to redeem) while 192 go down, more than a 2.5 to 1 ratio of increases to decreases. Most of the increases are in the U.S.
1000 Bonus American Miles for $200 Online Shopping Spend
The American AAdvantage online shopping portal is offering 1000 bonus miles for spending $200 or more, cumulatively on purchases (all of your purchases can add up to $200 – it doesn’t have to be for a single item), through August 25. No registration required. In other words, make your online purchases by starting at the AAdvantage online mall and clicking on the retailers you’ll buy from at their site and you’ll pick up an extra 1000 miles on top of the miles you’d normally earn for doing so. The AAdvantage portal is run by Cartera commerce. I interviewed their President earlier this year, and tried to shed some light on how these online shopping portals – which offer you a rebate for the shopping you’ll do anyway – work. Meanwhile, the Hawaiian Airlines shopping portal…
Free Goldpoints
Goldpoints can no longer be earned after March 31. And if you signed up for your Goldpoints account through Radisson Hotels, your account was transferred to their separate (and continuing) Goldpoints Plus program. But it’s still possible to earn points in the old program for about two months (which won’t transfer to Goldpoints Plus, but can be redeemed for various things like food at TGI Friday’s). You can bring your Goldpoints account number with you to TGI Friday’s and get 2008 free Goldpoints by printing out a coupon. Copy the following URL into your web browser and replace the bolded text with your information: http://tgif.rsys1.net/servlet/campaignrespondent?_ID_=tgif.111&name=YOUR_FIRST_NAME%20YOUR_LAST_NAME& e mail=YOUR_EMAIL_ADDRESS Meanwhile, once the program ends, you still have plenty of time to redeem the points you’ve accumulated. Meanwhile, NotiFlyer has details on a Goldpoints Plus (the Radisson program)…
1000 Free Alitalia Miles
Alitalia is offering 1000 free miles for taking a quiz. The questions aren’t hard, but they’re all in Italian. Flyertalk discussion is here.
Amazon Discount Finder
I don’t know that this is new, but I hadn’t seen it before: a way to troll for discounts on Amazon, the Amazon Discount Finder. You select the category of items and optionally specify keywords, and then select the range of percentage discounts off regular price you want. Amazon then returns search results of items that are within that range.
Access to Full Length Television Shows Online
TravelTechTalk has free Hulu beta memberships to give away. If you missed what Hulu is all about, it’s an online video site with programming from 40 different studios. You’ll find full length programs like The Office, Family Guy, Prison Break and 30 Rock. And all the content is in great quality, none of that postage stamp sized stuff. They even have a collection of great HD clips.
