  1. More toddlers at the airport. Throw him in the clink for 30 days and put on a Do Not Fly List.

  2. Don’t go to/connect in Vegas. Problem solved.

On Sirius, or any company these days, it pays to threaten to cancel, ask for retention offers, etc. Those of us playing the credit card game know this all too well. Wish it didn’t have to be this way. We deserve better terms, fairer treatment. Enough of the brinksmanship, please.

Anything using the buzzword ‘bespoke’ along with ‘curated’ and ‘sustainable’ is a joke.

On the ‘bribes’ topic, at least in the USA, as I’ve said repeatedly on here before, since Snyder v. United States, 603 U.S. 1 (2024), the US Supreme Court *shamefully* held (conservative majority, 6-3) that 18 U.S.C. § 666 prohibits bribes but does not make it a crime to accept ‘gratuities.’ So, just call those bribes gratuities are you’re good to be as corrupt as you wish!

  3. @1990 — But…but….the Capital One Lounge

Speaking of Vegas, re: Zorkfest – @Gary, not speaking this year?

  4. @Gary — Hope it works out for you – I was thinking about making a trip to the area around that time of year anyway so if it all lines up would be fun and educational to listen in on so thanks for putting it on my radar. (I’ll pass on the $1K buy-in baccarat though!)

  5. @Christian — I almost overlooked that article. Wow, it really was actually interesting. Thank you for emphasizing it. Now understanding it better, proud of those Greeks for what they accomplished.

The lack of creativity with the architecture is one thing (and the bulldozing of most neoclassical architecture is another), but the rapid wide-spread real estate development with no contracts, regulations, or property taxes was impressive for that period.

Perhaps, we can learn from that concept of ‘antiparochi’ (which seems a bit like ‘gentrification,’ but more so the proliferation of affordable housing for nearly all). “The system also managed – very successfully – to diminish the political polari(z)ation in Athens.” Take notes, folks. This is the way.

A good society ensure that we cover peoples’ hierarchy of needs, and shelter is a big one.
