Double Your Club Carlson Points Earning, All Year Long Without a Promotion

@ckramer tweets,

Club Carlson has a business program that will let a separate business account earn up to 10 points per dollar for eligible stays, in addition to the points earned by the guest into their own account.

  • The guest and the company account administrator can be the same person (so they would effectively earn an extra 10 points per dollar for their stay).
  • And the company administrator can earn points for others’ stays as well — earning Club Carlson points even when they aren’t traveling.

Here’s the program.

In addition to points-earning for the company account, the program comes with a 5% – 15% discount on room rates, but other available offers such as AAA or corporate discounts are likely as good.

The program’s terms and conditions explain points-earning.

Club Carlson for Business members may earn 8 Gold Points per U.S. dollar spent on Room Charges by its employees, vendors and business partners at Participating Properties, plus 2 Gold Points per U.S. dollar spent for reservations for Eligible Stays that are booked through your private booking webpage, the Club Carlson website, a Carlson brand website, or a Carlson mobile website. Reservations for Eligible Stays must be made by the account administrator and must include the Corporate Account ID. Individual Club Carlson members may also earn Gold Points for the same Room Charges with their individual Club Carlson accounts. Amounts spent on food and beverages, Event Purchases, taxes, and incidental or third party charges, such as charges for telephone or other communications services, laundry, pay-per-view movies, entertainment, recreational facilities, restaurants, banquets, catering, gift shops, stores, tenants, vendors or concessionaires, are not eligible to earn Gold Points in Club Carlson for Business.

Starwood used to have a similar program, SPG Biz, before consolidating it into SPG Pro.

Just as many people can get small business credit cards, so too can many people get small business accounts with airlines and hotel programs. I’ll be setting one up myself with Club Carlson using the tax ID for my LLC.

  1. This is from the website:

” Points for Hotel Stays . Earn 20 Gold Points® per U.S. dollar spent on eligible hotel stays.”

The Business Program uses a different formula:

“Earn 8 Gold Points per U.S. dollar spent on eligible hotel nights at Quorvus CollectionSM, Radisson Blu®, Radisson®, Park Plaza®, Park Inn® by Radisson, and Country Inns & Suites By CarlsonSM hotels worldwide.
Earn 2 additional Gold Points per U.S. dollar spent on eligible hotel nights booked online at your private booking page, ”

If, in fact, you can get points as the Administrator ( 10 points per dollar,) and also your personal account,( 20 points per dollar), there would be a total of 30…

  2. I have one of these CC biz accounts. Be aware that if you use the private corp booking page you will not always see the lowest rate. I have an upcoming stay where the cheapest rate available thru the private page is my $161 corp rate while on the main webpage there is a AAA hot deal refundable $104 rate.

  3. Have had this awhile. At least as of last year, useless. Rates much much higher for the business account.

  4. I have never worked out how to include both numbers in the booking. Carlson says it should be the for business number and present the personal card at check-in – somehow I don’t trust them, especially as it’s been about 6 months now that they promised 10k points for a survey and no pints till now.

But if can make it work, good for you
