Emirates is known for its blingy cabins, from first class suites with gold-colored accents to the incredibly shower spa with heated floors at the front of the first cabin to a bar (that isn’t quite as nice as the Qatar A380 bar) at the back of business class.
Emirates is simultaneously advancing its image with new products while cutting costs.
Emirates is reportedly considering letting business class passengers pay for use of the first class shower spas. They’re also letting customers buy into business and first class lounges. And they’re cutting costs, eliminating use of showers on the shortest routes and taking away towel service from economy.
While Emirates is rolling out new (very tight) flat business class seats in their new Boeing 777s, they aren’t retrofitting existing planes.
So it’s no surprise that Emirates A380s will get a new design for the bars in their A380s, this is only for new deliveries starting this summer and not retrofits of the current A380 fleet.
There’s cafe tables, a new surround sound system, and LED mood lighting. And there’s a new soundproof curtain to keep light and noise from the bar from disturbing the business class cabin.
Here’s a video look at the new A380 business class lounge which is expected to make its operational debut in July:
