Somehow I didn’t realize that there is a “#DeltaAmexPerks truck”, perhaps because the last way I’d expect an airline and a financial services company to promote their partnership is through ground transportation.
However the truck is going to visit 9 cities between September 6 and November 2, offering free pretzels to customers. Delta co-brand cardmembers can show their card for a free pretzel for themselves and a guest. (If you don’t have a Delta Amex then pretzels cost $3 each, with proceeds donated to the Red Cross.)
The truck will make stops in Delta’s hub cities – Detroit, New York, Salt Lake City, Boston, Atlanta, Seattle, Minneapolis and Los Angeles – as well as new focus city Raleigh. Raleigh is a new focus city however Nashville, San Jose, Austin, and Cincinnati are also focus cities but won’t get a pretzel truck stop.
Here’s the truck’s schedule:

The time and transportation cost to get a $3 pretzel will probably cost more people more than $3. But free pretzels from Delta and American Express!
How incredibly exciting
Maybe this will be bigger than Popeye’s Fried chicken sandwich
giving me a reason to fly Delta and redeem 400k sky pesos for a one way flight to Australia
I get that delta is fair decent operational airline on average but their redemption is still criminal
and yet people still fly them
Kind of like putting money in a CD and getting no interest in return
I don’t get why anyone would bother with them unless perhaps living in Atlanta with no other or limited choice
