Great Fare: Europe Business Class From $1790 Roundtrip

Star Alliance member TAP Air Portugal is selling business class roundtrips from New York JFK and Newark to Vienna, Zurich, Nice or Frankfurt via Lisbon starting at $1790.

You’ll pay ~ $1997 booking direct through TAP, but if you search SkyScanner they’ll offer online travel agencies selling it for $200 less.

Key details of fare basis JUSEXI8E:

  • Valid for travel between January 7 – June 13
  • Must issue tickets by November 30 (but the fare may not be available that long)
  • $250 refund fee in each direction ($500 for roundtrip)
    $300 change fee
  • Saturday stay or 5 night minimum stay required

Be sure that the trip books into this fare basis before relying on these details.

TAP J fares earn 200% of flown miles with Air Canada Aeroplan, Lufthansa Miles & More, and Avianca LifeMiles, and 125% of flown miles crediting to United MileagePlus.

  2. The worst Airline in the world. TAKE ANOTHER PLANE= TAP.
    I had a ticket for 2 round trip from Madrid to Porto. The airline cancelled without any notice.
    I booked with Ryanair and Iberia for my trip on May 10 and 13 2022.
    I then bought a ticket from Lisbon to JFK and my spouse got sick and we had to fly from Madrid to JFK with AirEuropa. Great deal. We made it home. May 10 and May 13 was a partial refund. You call them and no one speaks English.

  3. Are the kettles blocked from coming up front and stinking up the latrines on TAP? I might book a one way BCN-EWR with 4 night LIS layover .

  4. I have never flown TAP, which has the only direct non stop from SFO to LIS, with good departure and arrival times. I read the various reviews, and was thinking it’s better to have a long layover in Newark, or transfer in FRA or MUC. Also, although a part of Star Alliance, the TAP nonstop is not bookable through United, but their website booking has the TAP connections from other airports.

  5. Also be careful with European marketed “Business Class”. If not a direct overseas flight, many carriers provide coach seats for European segments and just block off the middle seat of a 3-3 configuration. No business class section.

  6. Business class has become so watered down. Took Iberia business class. It wasn’t even premium economy on some airlines

  7. TAP has a fine product and the set up in Lisbon is nice, but it’s too risky to buy from them. If anything goes wrong they just run and hide. Impossible to reach anyone to get re-accommodated or even refunded. Too risky to give them any business in my opinion.
