Impatient Passenger Leaves Through Emergency Exit, Walks Onto the Wing

On New Years Day Ryanair flight FR8164 from London Stansted to Malaga was delayed about an hour on departure. After reaching Spain the plane was further delayed half an hour on the tarmac. And an impatient passenger decided “I’m mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore.”

A 57 year old passenger opened the emergency exit door and walked out onto the wing with his carry on bag.

“He activated the emergency door and left, saying, ‘I’m going via the wing.’ It was surreal.”

Another passenger who was also on the flight said: “I don’t know why he did it. He must have just lost it and it was the first thing that came into his head.”

Ground crew convinced the man to return to the aircraft, where he was met by law enforcement. He wasn’t arrested instead they “recorded his name and age so they could report him for an infraction against airport security.”

Naturally there’s video.

  2. What do these idiots expect to happen after they pop the emergency door? They think they can just waltz off the wing and into their waiting taxi?

  3. It was not a plane on departure, it had already arrived. He was not waiting half an hour, it was an hour. And most importantly, the guy was having an asthma attack. Slander like this with lies and misinformation is despicable.
