Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee has bragged about being a Delta Diamond Medallion though he really hates flying on their CRJ-200 regional jets.

The father of the White House Press Secretary flew American Airlines last night though, on American’s Los Angeles to Nashville redeye. On arrival though passengers weren’t allowed to enter the terminal.

5 hr red eye flight on @AmericanAir Nashville from LA. On ground for 40 min and now told someone on board is sick & we are being towed to other gate and quarantined until all checked out. Can’t get up to go to bathroom or get off plane. It’s the Russians! I just know it!

Medical personnel responded to the aircraft, which was parked in a remote position, and everyone had to stay onboard for over two hours. A passenger on the plane had an illness and crew became worried about exposure. The individual had been cleared medically to fly however did not have any paperwork indicating this. So the airline and responding medical personnel took precautions to avoid spread of infectious disease.

Though it sure seemed that Huckabee’s initial tweet was unhappy with the situation (as well as the independent counsel’s Russia investigation) he ultimately applauded how everything was handled. As a regular Delta flyer Huckabee didn’t realize quarantine has been standard procedure for American flights whenever someone in coach bought a barbecue sandwich.

Kudos to @AmericanAir pilot and crew-handled medical issue on red eye from LAX to Nashville very professionally. We were held for a while as medical personnel made sure the person wasn't Gwyneth Paltrow from Contagion. Seriously, hope the lady is okay–taken on gurney.

Although something tells me that if the sick passenger was Gwyneth Paltrow that everyone’s reaction would have been different. I think what he’s searching for here is the monkey in Outbreak.
