Now they’ve moved to a ‘permanent’ 24 month expiration policy, with points first expiring again in a year. Why the change?

According to attorneys for the plaintiffs in the case – which seeks $530 million in damages – there are over 180 people that have been falsely arrested based on Hertz errors. That number is rising, with 26 new victims identifying themselves in the past month. And this doesn’t seem to be just a past problem at Hertz, either, because 8 new victims “have come forward with proof of new false arrest incidents” that occurred this year.
I wrote a little over a week ago that Hyatt would announce a new promotion of 2022 bonus points every 2 nights, Jan 15 – April 20. And they’re doing exactly that. One piece I didn’t share was an additional bonus for Hyatt co-brand credit card customers.
Delta is running a SkyMiles award sale on business class roundtrips to Europe during winter when no one wants to go there. They’re promoting several deals from my home town of Austin, like Rome for only 369,000 miles, Lisbon for just 345,000 miles. That is for one ticket.
On October 22nd American Airlines CEO Doug Parker received the Wings Club’s Lifetime Achievement Award. I shared the video American prepared for the event, and Parker’s acceptance speech, earlier today in my coverage of his retirement announcement. Parker will stay as CEO through March 31 when he becomes Chairman and current airline President Robert Isom becomes CEO.
The real star of the Wings Club event, enjoyed by around 1300 guests at the New York Hilton, was Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly’s music video tribute. It’s been held close to the vest since that night.
