Rapper Jim Jones, a native of Harlem, is a founding member of The Diplomats. He got into a fight at Fort Lauderdale airport, and now claims self-defense.
The Love & Hip Hop alum actually fought off two men at once as they were descending an escalator. Jones can be seen on video delivering punches to the two, accidentally landing on an older man who then fell to the ground. Another woman rushed to deactivate the escalator, but the fight continued despite attempts by several bystanders to intervene.
The altercation ended when law enforcement arrived. Jones was separated from the melee by the officers. He was overheard explaining to authorities and onlookers, “It’s two of them against me,” suggesting he was outnumbered and acted in self-defense. Despite his protests, he complied as an officer escorted him to sit down. Another man, visibly more agitated, struggled to escape from a sheriff deputy’s hold but was eventually restrained by more officers arriving at the scene.
According to Jones,
I was minding my business and defended myself. They got what they were looking for.

I feel sorry for the senior citizen bystander who got taken out during that melee. Looks like he broke a leg or, worse, got an ACL/MCL/LCL tear when they rolled up on the back of his legs…
