Shirtless Passenger Casually Takes His Seat On United Flight Out Of Newark—And Everyone Acts Like It’s Normal

No shirt, no shoes, no service? Not if you’re flying United Airlines out of Newark. What Is New York has the video.

Honestly surprised to see someone without a shirt departing Newark Airport. Usually that’s reserved for Newark Penn Station. I guess the Jersey Shoreboy forgot the L in “GTL” or that United now offers Basic Economy and Ultra-Basic Jersey, BYO shirt. He’s either going to Fort Lauderdale, Cancun, or competing on the next Maury paternity special.

The amazing thing is that while this stands out, it isn’t that unusual! A naked man walked up to a TSA checkpoint in Detroit and managed to get screened. It’s common enough there’s been a judicial determination that getting naked at TSA is not protected by the first amendment.

The undisputed winner, of course, is Florida where a nearly-naked woman stormed a TSA checkpoint and got tased on the buttocks. (In Miami naked passengers are enough of a thing that a startup airline Naked-air even tried Miami – Cancun service.)

Airports just seem to make people want to take their clothes off. Remember the woman who stripped naked at American Airlines check-in in Jamaica? Meanwhile after then-US Airways overbooked a flight to Jamaica, a man walked around the airport naked for an hour in protest.

A woman walked naked through the Atlanta airport stopping to pose for photos. And there was a naked man was found strolling past the TGI Friday’s at DFW airport.

  1. During the 90s, there was a famous Berkeley “naked guy” who went everywhere sans clothing. He was on my flight to Europe on Leasure Air. Fortunately, he only stripped from the waist up. He did do pushups in the aisle. That flight was my worst flight ever but that’s another story. Leasure Air was eventually barred from flying.

  2. @David W Crane — Thought they merely went bankrupt. Did you at least enjoy Leisure’s infamous turkey sandwiches? Supposedly, they were so cheap, that’s all they ever served onboard.

  3. Since the airline allowed a man to do this, they should stop policing women customers on what women are wearing or not wearing on top.

  4. @GUWonder — Regardless, probably should stop ‘policing’ passengers in-general. We certainly do not need a ‘morality police’ here or anywhere.

  5. Americans are so uptight about seeing the human body in its natural form. Perhaps this guy has a deeply held belief that his body should be exposed…can’t deny him that.
