Starwood Now Offers Resort/Casino Elite Benefits in Las Vegas Plus Up to 40% Off Redemptions

Shortly after Hyatt introduced a lucrative partnership with MGM hotels giving them a footprint in Las Vegas and members an option to earn and redeem points, earn elite status, and receive status benefits at casino resort properties Starwood introduced a more limited partnership with Caesars.

  • You can earn up to 10 elite night credits per year with Caesars properties (but not stay credits)
  • While there’s reciprocal earn and burn there wasn’t reciprocal elite recognition

That’s now changed.

Starwood Platinum members who are register for the SPG/Total Rewards partnership can sign up for VIP Access with Caesars.

To sign up, show your Platinum card at the Total Rewards Center at Planet Hollywood, Caesars Palace or The Cromwell in Las Vegas.

Here are the benefits:

  • VIP line access for hotel check-in
  • VIP line access at participating restaurants
  • VIP line access for taxis and entertainment venues
  • Preferred entry into participating Las Vegas nightclubs
  • Pool access at all Las Vegas resorts
  • Priority lines at casino cages and the Total Rewards Center

Starwood is promoting their Caesars relationship with ‘up to’ 40% off redemptions if you book stays by June 14 (and stay through February 2016).

This can be a decent deal over a weekend when Vegas rates are high, and is a terrible deal generally during the week when paid rates are low.

  1. Assume the following at all times in Vegas. Whatever perk you think you are supposed to get per these offers, make sure of the following

You have a printed list of the perks you are supposed to get
You are willing to stand at the front desk for as long as it takes when they find a “manager”
Expect a wrinkled face and puzzled looks from all involved. Eyebrows raised. Not that those perks listed are worth ten cents to me.

I have been down this road before. The redemptions on points for these hotels are terrible. 29,000 points for Plant Holywood? Are they kidding. Complete rip off-typical Vegas stuff. Also you will get hit with resort fees in cash. When SPG managed Planet Hollywood years ago it was 10K a night.
With SPG that was the ONLY time I did not get hassled at the front desk with any issues. SPG employees seem to have been trained.

  2. Was hoping no resort fees at ceasars property for my SPG platiunum status! oh well

  3. Hah. I’ve tried everything to get my Caesar’s nights credited to my SPG profile with no luck. I have confirmed my profiles/accounts are correctly linked, but getting the nights to hit is seemingly impossible.

Not holding my breath on being able to glean actual benefits from this program as well. .
