American Express is running a 30% bonus on transfers from Membership Rewards to Virgin Atlantic through September 12. It only appears when logged into your American Express Membership Rewards account, so it’s possible that members with certain cards won’t have this bonus offer available.
There are some amazing award values even though Virgin Atlantic is a generally weak program, you can hold awards before even making your instant transfer to lock in success.

Aeroplan is an independent separately traded company. Air Canada spun it off to raise cash and at the time locked in a 15 year agreement for an exclusive partnership. Aeroplan expected to renew this deal on less favorable terms, and planned to squeeze customers as a result.
But Air Canada is launching a new frequent flyer program in 2020 instead, leaving Aeroplan in a pickle.

A year ago American Express inked an expansion of the Miami lounge – arguably the brand’s most crowded – and did a deal to replace the current DFW lounge with a new nearby larger one.
That project seems to be behind, and the current Centurion lounge at Dallas Fort-Worth is closed until August 14 for repairs.

In light of news that Anthony Boudrain had included his frequent flyer miles in his will, I wrote about how each of the major airline and hotel programs handle miles as part of an estate and what you need to do to make sure your points can be used by whomever you intend.
What I didn’t cover at the time was how transferrable bank points work when you pass away. And it turns out know this is even more important.

I use Bose QuietComfort 25 Headphones. I paid $300 for mine when I bought them. Amazon has them on sale for an amazing $125.
Regular price is now $279. They went on sale for Black Friday at $179. $125 is the lowest I’ve seen. But what if I told you they could be further discounted to $77?

As the media and opponents dig into the background of the President’s nominee to replace Justice Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court, one story circulating is about Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s reported past credit card debt.
Notably, Judge Kavanaugh does not currently have any reportable credit card debt. And he explains his past credit card balances that exceeded his net worth excluding the value of his residence as the result of purchasing items ‘for friends’ that he was reimbursed for.

In the new Marriott program there will be two card issuers: Chase for personal cards, and American Express for premium personal and small business cards. All legacy cards will continue to be serviced.
And in the new program the transfer ratio of Membership Rewards to Starwood (and ultimately Marriott) will be changing as well.

Lifetime means as long as American Express sees you as having had a card in the past. Often that seems to be around seven years. You can ask American Express what cards you’ve had in the past and they’ll tell.
There’s no more guessing, because American Express has a new popup when you submit an application — before they pull your credit — noting you’ve had the card in the past (or currently have it) and therefore aren’t eligible for a bonus. You can proceed with the application if you wish, or stop the process.
