Air France KLM Flying Blue will now status match customers in the U.S. and Mexico up to the Gold level, with status valid for 12 months. This is fantastic if you have a stash of bank points that transfer to miles, and great if you fly Delta as well.
Hilton Honors offers free 90 days of status to anyone with current elite status in a major hotel program that has stayed at a hotel at least once in the last 24 months. Then, if you stay with them you can keep or upgrade the status – valid for nearly two full years at this point.
The offer has been available for some time but it’s just been changed.
Through May 7, British Airways Executive Club is offering to status match members who reside in the U.S. and Canada. Depending on your status with a U.S. or Canadian airline frequent flyer program, they will match to Silver or Gold status.

Bilt Rewards has been promising new elite benefits and they’ve just announced two new elements of their Platinum status: dedicated support, and Air France KLM Flying Blue Gold status. Both of these benefits launch February 29.
Air France KLM Flying Blue is offering status matches up to Platinum, the level required to redeem points for first class awards on Air France. They’ll even match United Platinum and American Platinum Pro members to Flying Blue Platinum.
Marriott Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members receive free Cathay Pacific silver status for a year.
Last summer we learned that Marriott would replace Hyatt as MGM’s partner. Now the benefits of the partnership are being detailed, for when MGM properties become bookable as part of Marriott Bonvoy “early this year.”
Customers were quick to flee Delta after the airline announced major changes to earning status and accessing its airport clubs. Loyalty Status Company CEO Mark Ross-Smith says that “100,000+ high-value frequent flyers did a Status Match in 2023” and that this was “[m]ainly driven by the Delta SkyMiles changes.”
United Airlines’ elite status rules for 2024 see only minor adjustments, with the most notable change being the enhanced role of credit card spending in status qualification, not as extensive as American or Delta. Additionally, United’s response to Delta’s controversial changes includes maintaining its status match offer, leading to a surge in requests following Delta’s initial announcement of more stringent elite status qualifications and lounge access. Now their status match offer is back.
Delta SkyMiles suspended status matches in September and it was anticipated this was related to a revamp of the elite program.
Well, that became a debacle with Delta rolling out major changes and facing such a huge customer backlash that they partially and temporarily pulled those back. Now status matches are supposed to be returning this month.
