United Airlines Passenger Bites Flight Attendant, Spits At Others, and Causes Emergency Landing

United flight 762 from Miami to Newark diverted to Orlando on Tuesday when a woman on board bit a flight attendant and hurled profanities at fellow passengers.

She started screaming at those around her and when flight attendants attempted to de-escalate the situation – and restrain her with zip ties – she bit a male flight attendant’s shoulder, tearing a piece of his uniform. The woman also spit at another passenger and threatened them.

American Airlines Dominates U.S. Summer Travel – United Leads Across The Atlantic

Data from Aviation analytics company Cirium shows that American Airlines offers the most seats of any airline this summer. Using schedule data for this month, they edge out Southwest Airlines as the largest carrier by the measure. Both American and Southwest have a heavily domestic-focused network, and don’t fly their seats as far as United Airlines (or Delta).

Overall domestic scheduled seats are up 6% year-over-year despite aircraft delivery delays, especially by Boeing. Seats are up 7.8% across the Atlantic this month with Delta just a hair’s breadth behind United Airlines.

United Airlines 757 Loses Tire Taking Off From LAX, Passengers Brace For Emergency Landing

United Airlines flight 1001 from Los Angeles to Denver lost a tire during takeoff this morning at around 7:15 a.m. Pacific time. The pilot reportedly announced what happened to passengers on board as they continued their flight to Denver as planned. Flight attendants ran everyone through brace procedures, prior to making an emergency landing.

Texas Mom And Toddler Booted Off United Flight After Misgendering Flight Attendant

A United Airlines passenger flying from San Francisco to Austin with her young child was kicked off her flight on Wednesday after misgendering a flight attendant. It’s disputed whether the misgendering incident is the only reason for her removal.

Jenna Longoria was traveling with her 16-month-old son and her mother. She says that the misgendering was an accident. The airline, though, says that “a party of three traveling out of San Francisco today was not allowed to board following a discussion about having too many carry-on items.” It seems likely that’s when the pronoun discussion occurred.
