What do you think, is a slip and fall necessarily the fault of an airline when another passenger’s bag protrudes into the aisle? Or – sometimes – do accidents happen, and unfortunate as it is, that’s why they’re called accidents?

United Flight Attendants Union Gaslights Delta’s Cabin Crew Pay Increase
Delta’s decision to pay flight attendants for the time boarding aircraft sent shockwaves through the industry. Traditionally flight attendant union-bargained contracts pay flight attendants a higher wage for the flight itself, and don’t calculate time spent boarding. Thus, many flight attendants feel they ‘don’t get paid’ for that time.
I’ve heard from cabin crew at several airlines envious of their counterparts at Delta, who are seeing this new pay on top of raises that started right before the pandemic, on top of special profit sharing bonuses announced earlier this year, and on top of raises that go into effect May 1.
Singapore Airlines And United Bury The Hatchet?
Singapore Airlines joined Star Alliance 22 years ago. You’d expect that when they look to feed passengers to and from their U.S. flights they’d work hand-in-hand with United. Except that’s not what’s happened over the years.
United Updating Polaris, Planning Doors On Business Class Seats
There’s a lot of competitive pressure now to do more than just Polaris for United, especially as that carrier pursues a strategy that seeks to attract premium business. And the planning cycle for a new business product, from selection to production to installation across a fleet, is many years-long. So it’s not surprising that United is now planning for a new business seat with doors.
Court Rules US Domestic Flight Delays Can Be Subject To EU Compensation
ike many carriers, United Airlines and Lufthansa operate a ‘joint venture’ where they share revenue for their operations across the Atlantic. There’s not supposed to be any difference between traveling on a United flight or a Lufthansa flight. Both airlines put their flight codes on the other carrier’s flights. That means United sells Lufthansa flights as though they were United flights with a United flight number, and vice versa.
But if Lufthansa is going to sell United flights as though the fights were their own, then those flights become subject to European consumer protection rules.
New: United Explorer Card 70,000 Bonus Miles
The United Explorer Card has an offer to earn up to 70,000 bonus miles: 60,000 after you spend $3,000 on purchases in the first 3 months and an additional 10,000 after you spend $6,000 in the first 6 months. That’s still just an average of $1000 a month, so easily doable for most readers.
This is a nice improvement over most of the elevated offers there have been for this card. And it comes with a $0 the first year then $95 annual fee so you aren’t even paying that first year fee in exchange for the additional miles.
Senator Ted Cruz Missed His United Airlines Flight. Police Had To Be Called.
Police were called to the United Airlines ticket counter in Bozeman, Montana after Senator Ted Cruz arrived at the airport past check-in cutoff for his flight. Out of Bozeman, at the end of spring break, rebooking options were limited and the Senator – who has experience fleeing the snow on United – reportedly became belligerent.

United Airlines flight 2425 from Orange County to Houston diverted to Austin on Friday after a flight attendant reportedly announced “that there was an explosion in the cargo and there could or may not be a fire.” According to a passenger on the flight, “You could feel the plane start to pick up in speed.”
United Airlines Declares Pandemic Is Over: Unvaccinated Employees Can Return To Work
United Airlines imposed a strict vaccine requirement for employees ahead of the federal government pushing large employers and government contractors to do so. And they weren’t liberal about encouraging and approving exemptions the way that some other large airlines were.
