Through the end of the year, Sun Trust is offering 25,000 SkyMiles for a business debit card and 15,000 miles for a personal debit card. Each comes with a $55 annual fee. As far as I can tell, this deal is even easier than the one with Chase, as only a single qualifying purchase is required, and you just need to keep your card open until the bonus posts.

you can leverage your Biz account and make a ton more miles. I did this promo last year (it was VISA and 15,000 miles), if you get additional users (up to 4) on your account, you don’t need to give SS# for them (so no inquiries), you should collect 25,000 per card, so for $275 ($55 x 5 cards) for Business account you should be able to get 125,000 Delta Skymiles. You do have $1,000 requirement on your balance. So you should deposit about $1,300 into your account, use each card for $1-2 purchase, and keep over $1,000 in the account to avoid any fees.Also, last year I received a one-day pass to Delta Club Room with each account, great gifts to give to people who travel on Delta and do not have status.
Gary (or anyone else for that matter), so do you know if this same concept can be applied to the Chase Continental checking promo.
To be precise, can I sign up multiple authorized users for my Chase checking account and earn the miles bonus multiple times? Thanks
I called up to set up a business account. It is a no go for independent contractors as they need a valid Business Tax ID to start the process. It has never been a problem getting the Biz CC’s with SS # as the Biz ID, but these guys are tough :). Just a data point.
@Ram Is your comment in reference to the Chase or Suntrust promo?
I called to set up a business account and, as I obtained a Business EIN (Employer Identification Number, also known as the taxpayer identification number) for free within a few minutes on the IRS site, I was able to start the application. However, when I gave the
agent at Sun Trust my California address, she informed me that they do not accept
applications for accounts, which I would need for the debit card, unless I had an
address in the areas where they had brick and mortar banks. She informed me that
they have the same rule for their personal accounts.
Zack, My comment was in reference to the promo from Suntrust. Since I am also in California, I guess I can’t have either of the two accounts set up per Harvey’s post.
I had opened Chase Continental personal and Biz accounts earlier in the year. Never inquired about multiple bonuses for multiple authorized users from them. Would be surprised if Chase allowed that.

The SkyMiles Check Cards are issued by SunTrust Banks, Inc., and the cards are available in AL, AR, FL, GA, MD, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA, WV, and DC.
frugaltravelguy.com’s Sept. 2 entry lists a phone number of a SunTrust branch and names of staff members. The comments attached to that entry seem to indicate that it may be worth a shot to to call those representatives even if you think you are geographically disqualified.
I am not a lawyer, but I can imagine (perhaps incorrectly) scenarios where a knowledgeable sales rep might be able to help you legally qualify depending on your situation, especially for the business account.
I think it’s really kind of pathetic that Delta lacks a national partner for their branded debit products. There are around 2 million potential customers in the twin cities for instance, who are shut out of the opportunity to get this card.
