Two decades ago a foreign-born friend appeared on Jeopardy! and in the segment where Alex Trebek would ask contestants a little something about themselves, he inquired “I understand you want to amend the constitution.” My friend friend offered that he wanted to make it so that foreign-born people could be President, “not that I want to be President, but I want to not be President by choice rather than by law.”
I have no interest in being President either – except that if I was the first thing I’d ask is about UFOs. It turns out I have something in common with Barack Obama, who asked about UFOs once he was sworn in. Because you’re President, you get to find out all of the secrets like Area 51. So why wouldn’t you?
With a June deadline approaching for the government to release an unclassified report detailing what it knows about UFOs, former President Obama is confirming that there are UFOs the government knows about and cannot explain.
When it comes to aliens, there are some things I just can’t tell you on air…Look, the truth is that when I came into office I asked. I was like, ‘All right, is there the lab somewhere where we’re keeping the alien specimens and spaceships?
They did a little bit of research …. and the answer was ‘No,’ But what is true — and I’m actually being serious here — is that there’s footage and records of objects in the skies that we don’t know exactly what they are. We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory … they did not have an easily explainable pattern.
So I think that people still take seriously trying to investigate and figure out what that is.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (for whom the Las Vegas airport is being renamed) believes Lockheed Martin is hiding fragments of a crashed UFO. The government even blocked the security clearance of one of the most powerful people in the country, with access to the rest of the government’s secrets, so he couldn’t find out.
Former CIA Director John Brennan thinks there is life on other planets offering that there are “quite a few” incidents that are “difficult to explain” incidents “exceed[ing] the sound barrier without a sonic boom.” And in some cases “we don’t have good explanations” for what we’ve seen “all over the world.” Many haven’t been made public before.
In February an American Airlines pilot reported a UFO contact over New Mexico.
I don’t believe there are extraterrestrial beings that have visited earth, in the sense that there’s greater than 50% likelihood that this is true. However recently-declassified photos, and statements from government leaders with access to highly classified material suggesting they believe there’s something to UFOs, certainly raises my estimate that this is true from negligible to non-negligible.
It’s possible that there aren’t beings from outer space, that if there are we’ll never find them, that they’ve probed us and are avoiding contact (prime directive?) or even that it’s actually future human societies traveling back in time (or else, why be so interested in earth over everything else that’s out there?). Or just that over time that we’ve been watching, with so many people in the world and so much time, eventually we see outlier phenomenon we can’t explain and it’s just… phenomenon we can’t explain. And just because we can’t explain it doesn’t make it alien.
Why does it seem all the unverifiable sightings of strange objects in the sky occur in the Western US? I don’t recall reading of any such sightings in the metropolitan areas of the Northeast.
@GJ: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_O%27Hare_International_Airport_UFO_sighting
Sightings happen EVERYWHERE. While I believe that many of them are secret research aircraft, many are simply unexplainable. Is O’Hare good enough?
@GJ The recent story on 60 Minutes was repeated UFO sightings on the East Coast by Navy personnel. The UFO could fly 60 miles in a few seconds.
Aliens may not have such Prime Directive. They survey first for many years then invade after they send sufficient forces.
“It’s a cookbook!”
I’ve had similar thoughts to this post and also the comments expressed after. I’m not denying that unexplained events are observed, but it “feels” like Bigfoot – in that there are sooooooo many sightings but for some reason they’re all either word-of-mouth experiences or grainy video that “could be anything”. It’s not so much “why is the video grainy” as “why are there exactly zero sightings with good video?”
Additionally, on the “aliens surveying so they can report back and later invade” theory, if they were looking to invade and are technologically so superior that they’re doing the physics-breaking things that have been observed (since at least the 1950’s by the way), there’s no need for caution and they would know there’s no need for caution. If hostile, they’d be just fine and would have confirmed that long ago.
Distract and obfuscate. In essence, look over here not over there. Those in the know, understand what I am saying. The rest of you can continue sleepwalking through your day.
That is all.
They won’t invade yet as long as Chump and his minions are around. Too afraid of the space cadets that support Chump.
What makes me curious is why you mostly hear of these sightings after the 1950’s. Which directly corresponds to the jet age and more experimental and secret aircraft etc being developed. Why were these not reported or talked about in, say, the 19th century? I know there are “stories” of things during the height of the Inca and Mayan civilizations, but how come you never hear or find evidence of these encounters during the 1700’s-1950? I’m really curious to read these reports when they come out and how much is known from encounters in previous centuries being documented.
@Rog Please, can’t we just have normal conversations here without having to drag politics and insults into everything? Let’s put the hate aside people.
@Rog will be the first to hide under his wife’s skirt or use his child as a shield when sh!t hits the fan..
@toomanybooks
Good one!
@toomanybooks “To Serve Man” is on a small table in the “Tower of Terror” library. Wish I could attach a copy of the picture I snapped 🙂
After the 60 minutes episode the the aliens are going to be hiding out to avoid detection. This is a good reason to sell Tesla since Musk has been getting tech help from aliens… or maybe he IS one.
Boring? Only for tunnels.
Obama, “We can’t explain how they moved, their trajectory ”
Yup, I agree. To date I believe I am the only person who is on the forum who has stated that they have seen a flying saucer, up close. Like maybe 50ft or 100 ft away, hovering over a corn field, I don’t know maybe 30ft to 50ft up from the top of corn stalks. Northern Illinois in the early – mid 1970’s. And I know it is true, I wasn’t hallucinating because I was driving and my best girlfriend was in teh passenger seat and we both saw it, so it wasn’t just me. If I saw it alone I probably would have questioned if I imagined it, but I didn’t see it alone, there was another person with me who saw it also.
It is what Obama said, the propulsion can’t be explained in our human experience. I you ever saw one, how they moved, the speed of their movement, no noise, and how they can change direction instantly, well…. if you ever saw one you would believe it also. It is the speed and the way they can maneuver.
I have absolutely no reason to lie about it. And I guess shortly we are all going to find out more information. I feel much much better about my experience now that there is more and more irrefutable evidence, from a lot of impeccable people. To be honest it is kind of validating. I do know we are being visited by aliens, no human could break these laws of physics like these spaces ships are doing. It won’t be long now.
Believe him and BLM. Ignore the murders in Chicago, Atlanta and elsewhere. Your Black mayors will sort it out.
