Who Wants a Free $2500 Stay in Bali?

Bali is one of my favorite relaxing places in the world. I go to the Maldives often, but it can be tough to get to and tough to get awards to. When folks come to me looking for French Polynesia and can’t find awards I’ll often suggest Bali.

It’s an interesting place with good food, cultural activities, and some of the world’s friendliest people. And there’s fantastic luxury accommodations available at reasonable prices for those spending US dollars.

Viceroy Bali is a family-owned resort with just 25 private pool villas. It’s in the artistic region of Ubud, so a nice departure from the more sterile Nusa Dua area of Westernized resorts. It’s a TripAdvisor 5-star and 2016 Travelers Choice award winner. I’ve seen very few properties with reviews this good. In fact, It’s TripAdvisor’s #11 of top 25 luxury hotels in the world.

And I’m going to give away a couple of nights there, with some fantastic inclusions, thanks to Luxury Travel Diary.

Luxury Travel Diary is a high-end travel blog with great reviews based in the UK that has a bunch of travel auctions with real bargains.

As I’ve said before, folks who already know about these auctions don’t like this added attention, because there don’t seem to be enough bidders relative to the value of the offerings and some of these items go way too cheap.

Seriously, a hotel night in the Maldives for an auction ending in about 8 hours going for 28 British pounds as of this writing…

Luxury Travel Diary wanted to highlight some of their deals, and offered to help organize a giveaway of a 2 night hotel stay at the Viceroy in Bali.

What’s included?

  • 2 night stay in a Garden Villa for 2 people
  • Roundtrip airport transfers
  • Daily breakfast
  • One candlelit dinner for 2
  • One couples spa treatment for 2

The hotel lists the value at $2500. It’s being given away by the hotel and Luxury Travel Diary, I’m just helping to highlight it and randomly select the winner. The stay can be taken through July 14, 2017 with July 15-30 and December 20-January 6 excluded.

To enter: leave a comment on this post with your favorite item up for auction at Luxury Travel Diary, or why you would choose to stay at Viceroy Bali. You may enter two times if you wish and answer those two questions one time each in separate comments.

Contest deadline and drawing winner: Entries close Friday, March 4 at Noon eastern. I will draw winner with the assistance of random.org.

The fine print: Advance booking is required and it’s subject to availability. Terms and conditions apply.

For avoidance of doubt, I have no affiliation with Luxury Travel Diary or Viceroy Bali. I am not getting anything in exchange for running this giveaway other than an opportunity to share the place with readers.

I will put the winner in touch with the hotel for booking. They are solely responsible for providing prize to winner. All decisions made in the course of running this giveaway are final and unappealable and your entry signifies your acceptance. The goal here is to make readers aware of a pretty cool auction opportunity, and to give away a stay. So please don’t make it hard on me for doing so!

You probably won’t fly to Bali and back for a 2 night stay, though you might add onto it and do other things in the region and it’s a great opportunity to spend American AAdvantage miles at just 55,000 miles each way in business class or 67,500 in first class before the March 22 devaluation.

  5. That is what I am doing right now – trying to figure out how to use my American miles to get to Bali before the miles hike. Qantas and Hawaiian go …. I would for sure use these nights – amazing prize

  10. We’ve never been to Bali, and I love the idea of staying at the luxurious Viceroy Bali for a visit to our 100th Traveler’s Century Club country!

  11. Besides the Viceroy Bali, I’d love to stay at the Waterhead Hotel in the English Lake District. I’m a huge Beatrix Potter fan, and 2016 celebrates the 150th anniversary of her birth. The U.K. will celebrate it with new coins depicting Peter Rabbit, and I want to be there to get them!

  12. Would love the 5 Nights Half Board At Reethi Beach Resort, Maldives! Always been a dream of mine to visit there.

  13. The Viceroy Bali stay would be an awesome way to celebrate me finishing my PhD in May. My wife has endured the last 11 years of me being a full time student and employee and that would be a great way to celebrate the end of the student phase!

  14. South Africa is my favorite destination, so i would choose the 2 nights at Bartholomeus Klip Farmhouse in South Africa. Looks wonderful!

  15. I’d love to stay at the Viceroy Bali with my husband, as we’ve never been to Bali before and have heard amazing things about it!!

  16. I would choose to stay at the Viceroy Bali because it is family owned and only 24 villas so it wouldn’t feel like we were staying in a huge resort. The infinity pool in the jungle doesn’t hurt either!

  17. Would love the Bali stay as we last stayed in Nusa Dua and didn’t get much time to explore Ubud! This would be perfect to do that! Thanks!

  18. I would love to stay return to Ubud and stay at the Viceroy. I much prefer Ubud over the beach areas and would like to re-connect with several artist friends in the area.

  19. Would love to stay at the Viceroy Bali. I’ve never gotten to see such beauty as what the Maldives has to offer and from what the villas look like, having a personal pool would be quite the treat with that view.

  20. My favorite is the Orlando location. My wife and I had a choice two years ago for our ten year anniversary…Bora Bora or a baby. We now have a two year old boy 🙂 and Disney seems to be a favorite among our children.

  21. The auction I like most that is ending soon from LuxuryTravelDiary is the 3 Days Of Tours & 5 Nights At BnB Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. It appeals to me due to the inclusion of activities but not being based solely around them and also it’s a long enough trip to truly be enjoyable and it isn’t a super expensive area to travel to.
