• Google has a new reward points program for Google Play I never spend money on apps or in their app store so this does me no good. Perhaps it will spread to other paid Google services.

• This incredible 2015 video is making the rounds again. On average it’s said that every commercial plane is struck by lightning at least once a year, I believe it’s been over 40 years since a crash has been attributed to a lightning strike. The fuselage of a plane will conduct electricity and allow it to transmit from the strike and generally out the tail. Aircraft are essentially Faraday cages, and passengers are protected from electrical charges while inside.

• Citibank will introduce AAdvantage miles-earning online savings accounts

• Image recognition is supposed to be the future of airport security but such systems are easy to trick by those who wish to do so.

• What Happens When You Leave Your Belongings Behind on a Plane? Airlines find items at a seat, they know who was seated at that seat, if anybody cared valuables would be reunited with their owners a much higher percentage of the time. But no, planes aren’t cleaned as thoroughly between flights as the author seems to think.

• Chinese pilot suspended after this went viral, though it’s really nothing compared to the Kuwait Airways pilot who let a porn star play with his controls on a London – New York flight.
