  1. The Accor sweet spot in the U.S., though VERY limited in footprint, is 21C Museum Hotels. They are really fantastic. I actually will skip Hyatt for Accor where there are 21C’s. Really wish they would expand faster.

  2. I like Accor – pre pandemic I did quite a bit of European and Asian travel and Accor has a nice range of properties outside the U.S. The Fairmonts and Sofitels in the US are quite decent but the overall footprint is sparse.

    What’s not mentioned is key – the loyalty program . If Accor wants to truly compete , then Accor ALL needs a big overhaul . Need more clarity and generosity in upgrades , especially the possibility of suite upgrades . At Platinum and Diamond levels ,Accor needs a decent breakfast benefit . Additionally, the Diamond level needs a guaranteed early check in and late check out .

    Stingy and frugal combined with meaningless smoke and mirrors loyalty program that doesn’t reward loyalty or offer solid benefits in anyway equals no business
