Capital One Venture Miles Now Transfer 1:1 To Choice Hotels

Arguably the most exciting new card of 2021 was the Capital One Venture X card. Along with the bank’s other miles cards, their points now transfer to a variety of frequent flyer programs at 1:1, an improvement that came last spring.

At the time Capital One improved to 1:1 transfers with most partners, they also announced Choice Privileges would become a transfer partner in late 2021. They missed that by a few days, but now this is live.

Capital One miles now transfer 1:1 to:

  • Star Alliance: Air Canada Aeroplan, Singapore Airlines Krisflyer, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, Avianca LifeMiles, TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go
  • oneworld: British Airways Executive Club, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, Finnair Plus, Qantas Frequent Flyer
  • SkyTeam: Air France KLM Flying Blue, Aeromexico Club Premier
  • Non-alliance: Emirates Skywards, Etihad Guest
  • Hotels: Wyndham Rewards, Choice Privileges

Capital One miles also transfer at 2-to-1.5 into EVA Air Infinity MileageLands. And they transfer 2-to-1 into ALL Accor Live Limitless.

Choice Privileges is a niche partner for getting value, though there are use cases. They have aspirational redemptions such as in the Ascend Hotel Collection that are often overlooked. Choice Privileges is also a transfer partner of American Express and Citibank.

Most people won’t use this or Wyndham Rewards, the two hotel transfer partners in the program. It continues my maxim that hotel transfers don’t yield nearly the same value as airline transfers, because hotel programs are both generally revenue-based and inflated currencies. Hyatt is the only worthwhile hotel partner of transfer currencies (Chase, Bilt). Nonetheless it’s fantastic to see the Capital One program continuing to grow.
