The Delta – Singapore Airlines partnership ends May 15.
Singapore Airlines awards, despite the roughly $500 fuel surcharge/taxes one might expect on a first class redemption, remain the single most lucrative use of Delta Skypesos there is.. for another dozen or so days.
If you don’t get in on this deal to burn your remaining Delta miles, here’s my advice on the best uses for Skymiles and even how to find available premium cabin award seats and book them online.
I booked my ticket on Friday for 2011. I got LAX-SIN-NRT-LAX, with layovers in both SIN and NRT. I’ll likely fill in my SIN time with an affordable ticket on AirAsia to somewhere that appeals at the time. It’s simply too complicated to try to book an onward ticket from Singapore nearly a year in advance.
Every single flight from SAN-LAX 11 months in advance would have bumped the ticket an additional 40K miles. Crazy. Needless to say, I’ll drive the 100 miles to LAX.
Gary, is SQ availability thru Delta better than ANA tool shows?
@Marek, yes it is much better and quite different than what the ANA tool shows. DL has had its own allocation separate from what has been open to the Star Alliance partners.
Is it also possible to redeem Europe-Singapore thru DL?
