News and notes from around the interweb:
- The Capital One lounge at New York JFK had a small back of the house fire last week, and is currently closed. The lounge’s status is currently reflected in Capital One’s app and on their website. I don’t actually expect it to be closed very long, probably measured in days though hopefully it won’t stretch out. It’s a good sign that employees were spotted inside this morning. I asked Capital One about it, and they shared:
The Capital One Lounge at JFK airport is temporarily closed to address a facilities issue. We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to welcoming guests again soon
- The official American Airlines way to designate a seatback entertainment screen inoperative:
- Trump congratulates Delta on bending the knee. They have reverted to “Notice to Airmen” and they now have adopted “Gulf Of America”
- I mean, American does lead the industry in mishandled bags..

- Turkey now requires airlines to provide each passenger with at least 200 ml of free drinking water on every flight—no exceptions. In the U.S., Spirit and Allegiant charge for water. Scott Kirby tried to when he was President of US Airways.
@L737 — Oh no! Not the bodega!
I highly suspect the fire in the luggage is then pat’s fault, not AA. Power bank?
@1990 — Nooo! I’ll be that dog in the “This is Fine” meme.
Glad everyone’s okay (from what I’ve read)
I need to buy a new bag. Does anyone make luggage out of Nomex?
