- Marriott lays off more legacy Starwood executives
- Former Starwood Senior Vice President of Loyalty Chris Holdren — out with Starwood’s acquisition by Marriott — is now Chief Marketing Officer at Caesars Entertainment. (Holdren was also Senior Vice President of Partnerships and in charge of the Starwood-Caesars partnership which ended a year ago.) There goes the speculation that he could be in the running for the day-to-day management role of Hyatt’s program, but Total Rewards members are in good hands.
- Singapore Airlines will reveal its new suites product next week. They’ve announced the first route for the new seats on a brand new A380: Singapore – Sydney flights SQ221/232 effective December 18.
Existing Singapore Suites Product - Remember, as I’ve shared in the past, that if you have a World Elite MasterCard (as several rewards MasterCards are) you can sign up for Hertz Presidents Club status.
- 100% bonus on purchased IHG Rewards Club points through November 3rd lets you buy points at $0.00575 apiece which is slightly lower than they’re worth.
- Biometrics and facial recognition are part of new credit card security experiments.
If a person were to apply for a credit card application on their smartphone, the bank app could ask the applicant to take a selfie and then take a picture of a driver’s license or passport. The technology will then compare the photos for facial similarities as well as check the validity of the driver’s license, all happening within seconds.
The selfie could also play a role in an online purchase.
Can you please explain how an existing Hertz member utilizes the presidents club upgrade? I only see the option to signup for a new account (which I tried but Hertz does not allow duplicate accounts). I also tried calling Hertz and the agents are clueless..

You can contact hertz and they will give you the email address to status match. Email them (hertzstatusmatch at hertz.com) and they will ask for proof that you have a World Elite MC and a CDP code (should be able to use the standard world elite MC CDP code found on the web, but not sure yet–awaiting confirmation).
