Bilt Rewards has a new partnership with BLADE, the airport helicopter transfer company, that offers points, discounts and even free trips to program members.

• 2 points per dollar on BLADE spend. Link any card in your Bilt account, and then BLADE purchases earn 2 Bilt points per dollar spent (on top of whatever points you earn from your credit card for spending). This isn’t a benefit of the Bilt co-brand card, but rather any credit card you choose to use. It is a card-linked offer and doesn’t require booking through Bilt’s app or website.

• Blade discounts. Silver members and above automatically receive 10% off Blade bookings made through the Bilt Rewards app or website.

• Access to BLADE lounges. Gold members and above receive access to BLADE lounges even when not taking a trip. Members show their status in the Bilt app and government-issued ID to receive access, limited to two beverages. Here is the list of BLADE lounges.

• Free BLADE trips. Platinum members receive a free BLADE flight each year they achieve that status, booked through the Bilt app or website and valid between Newark or JFK and Manhattan or between Monaco and Nice.

I’m not going to lie, I’m pretty excited – I’m a Bilt Rewards Platinum member and have taken advantage of 250% transfer bonuses to Air France KLM Flying Blue and to Virgin Atlantic. I’ve just taken advantage of the new Bilt Platinum benefit of Air France KLM’s Gold status. And now I get a free BLADE flight. It’s all the more reason to requalify for my Bilt Platinum status, since this is another tangible benefit – worth $195.

I’ve always meant to try BLADE on arrival at New York JFK and I’ve just never done it. That is going to change! And boy I think access to BLADE lounges is a cool feature – I’m not sure how many people will actually use this but it’s just neat to be welcomed into a private space any time by virtue of your status.
