It’s all either a trumped up non-issue, or an aviation apocalypse, depending on whom you ask. The worry is that C-band 5G at the power and frequency that will be used in the U.S. could send confusing signals to radio altimeters in aircraft, leading to confusion over the altitude at which the plane is flying, and problems for other systems in some aircraft like Boeing 777s as well. What’s going on here?

Airline Crew Caught Video Of A UFO Over Georgia Last Week
Crew on an Airbus flight over Georgia this past Monday caught video of what appears to be a UFO, “dark airspace was illuminated by an array of glowing lights.”
NASA Director: UFOs Are Real And May Be Aliens
When President Obama became President the first thing he asked about was UFOs. Because if you’re the President you can finally learn what’s inside Area 51. And Obama thinks UFOs are real.
Now the Director of NASA, former Senator Bill Nelson, says we don’t have any idea what UFOs are but something is out there – and that aliens is probably a better outcome for us than some sort of stealth technology held by an adversary on earth.
In The 90s Chinese Airlines Bought Boeing Because They Thought Airbus Sold Buses
There are great stories – some of them apocryphal – about product names and marketing slogans that don’t work when translated into another language.
Apparently Airbus really did have a problem with its name when selling planes in China in the 1990s. because Chinese airlines thought they sold buses.
Flight Attendants At American Airlines Regional Carrier Holding Strike Vote
Flight attendants at Piedmont Airlines, a regional carrier owned entirely by American Airlines, are going to vote on whether or not to authorize a strike between September 23 and October 21, 2021.
Are Shrinking Airline Seats Sexist?
Women have wider hips on average. Men crowd into women’s space. Women are less likely to speak up to defend their space.
United Pilot Talks Down Plane After Losing Its Engine, Lands On Highway
On Friday just after 1 p.m. a flight instructor and their student in a Cessna 172 aircraft experienced a failure of their single engine over I-75 in Broward County, Florida. They couldn’t reach air traffic control on the radio, but a commercial pilot who heard their calls talked them down onto the freeway 12 miles west of U.S 27.
American Airlines Promotes Billion Dollar Order Of Electric Aircraft That May Never Happen
In February United Airlines made a splash ordering electric aircraft with the idea of transporting people from urban centers like Manhattan over to Newark. Now four months later American Airlines announces that it, too, is investing in urban air mobility, maybe.
The aircraft in question hasn’t had a test flight yet, but they’re touting that “certification of the aircraft [could come] as early as 2024” which means it will be farther out into the future than that.
We’ve All Gained Too Much Weight, And Now Planes Require More Fuel To Fly
Americans have gotten fatter, and that’s making a big difference for airline operations. Each aircraft has a maximum weight it can take off with, and the weight of passengers and cargo contributes to how much fuel a plane is going to burn on a trip.
American Airlines this week updated its passenger weight assumptions. That’s going to mean they need more fuel for some trips. It even means that some aircraft will be ‘weight restricted’ and not allowed to carry a full load of passengers and cargo.
American Airlines Hides “737 MAX” From Passengers
American Airlines appears to be using safety cards that just say “737” on 737 MAX aircraft now. No wonder customers don’t seem to complain they’re flying on the MAX…?
