You can earn lifetime oneworld sapphire elite status just from credit card spending. That’s mid-tier status like American Airlines AAdvantage Platinum or Alaska Airlines MVP Gold, and allows you to access American and Alaska lounges even when flying domestically on those airlines (and includes access to American’s Flagship business class lounges).
I absolutely loved this discussion amongst flight attendants of ways they can go above and beyond in providing domestic first class service. It isn’t required of them. They aren’t going to be penalized for not doing it (or rewarded by their company foe going all-out). They just want to be proud of their performance, each and every day.

Awards for new American Airlines business class suites are wide open between Chicago and London Heathrow this summer as well as between Philadelphia and London. A customer tried to use their American Airlines systemwide upgrades 40 minutes to midnight on the day they expired – except the airline doesn’t specify in their terms and conditions what time zone midnight is. The upgrades, which were available for the customer to confirm, could not be used – because they’d already expired 80 minutes earlier.
Hacktivist group Anonymous breached Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX), the charter carrier heavily used by the Trump administration for deportation flights. The cyberattack involved defacing their website and taking sensitive passenger information that could expose critical details regarding deportations.
