The Grand Hyatt Kauai will remain closed for the rest of 2020 and into 2021, though it is not yet clear when the property will re-open. Kauai is one of Hawaii’s most beautiful islands, and the Grand Hyatt a top spot for frequent travelers – but not right now since the island’s Mayor has decided to stop accepting travelers with a negative test for Covid-19.

TSA Has Been Following Ordinary Passengers And Marking Down When They Use The Bathroom

Two years ago the Boston Globe revealed that the TSA was following ordinary Americans and taking notes on their habits and behaviors for a file, even though they hadn’t been flagged as threats, for a program called “Quiet Skies.” The TSA denied they were doing this. Then they promised to stop.

The program continued anyway, and the DHS Inspector General found that it’s very, very broken.

Gogo Isn’t Gogo Anymore, They’ve Sold Their Commercial Inflight Internet Business

Gogo has gotten out of the business of providing inflight internet to commercial airlines and will focus on the private jet market instead. They sold their commercial aviation business to Intelsat.

Intelsat believes it can negotiate more favorable terms with airlines (raise prices) and offer more bandwidth (allowing Delta to make internet free to passengers). Intelsat will lease Gogo’s air-to-ground network for 10 years as part of the deal, because commercial airlines (especially regional jets, which largely lack the capacity for satellite internet antennas) still use the technology.
