There aren’t enough feel-good stories in air travel, during the pandemic, or in 2021 generally. But Delta Air Lines is commiserating with a young girl who shares their name – Delta – and has the unfortunate luck that the current dominant variant of the virus is also called Delta.
The little girl’s mom enlisted Delta’s help to petition not to call another variant ‘Delta Plus’ – to please move on from Delta.

Delta did her one better, though, sending an amazing care package to the little girl. Scroll through the photos, because it’s the package itself that’s the coolest (though what kid wouldn’t want to get Biscoff cookies?).
The Atlanta-based airline wrote to the three year old,
Hi Kellie!
We saw your tweet and just wanted to let you know that we think your daughter’s name is amazing.
It’s the name for people who were meant to fly.
We sent you a few things with our favorite name, so she can know how special she is.
