Double Elite Nights at Hyatt’s Soft Brand Through End of Year

Hyatt’s ‘soft brand’ – the umbrella for independent hotels to join Hyatt without matching specific brand standards – is called “Unbound Collection.” The chain is offering double elite qualifying nights for stays at Unbound Collection hotels through end of year. (Registration required.)

There are 20 Unbound Collection properties.

I’ve already requalified for top tier status with Hyatt, but since they continue to offer rewards at 10 night increments I’ve gone ahead and registered anyway.

# Nights Or Benefit
10 25k base points or 3 meetings Discoverist
20 35k base points 2 club lounge access awards
30 50k base points or 10 meetings Explorist, 2 club access awards, cat 1-4 free night
40 65k base points 5k points or $100 Hyatt gift card or 10k points off FIND experience
50 80k base points 2 confirmed suite upgrade awards
60 100k base points or 20 meetings Globalist, 2 suite upgrade awards, cat 1-7 free night, concierge
70 N/A 10,000 points or suite upgrade award
80 N/A 10,000 points or suite upgrade award
90 N/A 10,000 points or suite upgrade award
100 N/A 10,000 points or suite upgrade award

I still haven’t stayed at an Unbound Collection property and extra qualifying nights plus another brand towards a free night every 5 brands wouldn’t hurt if I have the chance.

Update: several folks reporting they cannot register, and being told this is targeted, though the terms and conditions don’t appear to suggest that at all.

You must be a member of World of Hyatt and register for the promotion between October 22, 2019 and December 31, 2019 to participate. To join World of Hyatt, visit worldofhyatt.com, and to register for the promotion visit [INSERT URL}. All eligible nights under this promotion must have a checkout date from October 22, 2019 through December 31, 2019 (“Promotion Period”). Each eligible night completed at Unbound properties during the Promotion Period will count as two (2) nights, instead of one (1), for the purpose of tier qualification for Discoverist, Explorist and Globalist status. The extra night credit will also count towards benefits and awards that explicitly require a certain number of qualifying nights. For the purpose of this promotion, an “Eligible Night” is defined as any night where a member is paying an Eligible Rate or redeems a free night award for at least one night of their stay. Only the room occupied by the Member will count toward this promotion. You must provide your World of Hyatt membership number at the time of check-in for each stay. Please allow two to three weeks after your qualifying stay for Bonus Points to be posted to your World of Hyatt account. All nights associated with this promotion will be posted to your World of Hyatt account (My Past Activity section). Promotion not valid with other offers, promotions or discounts and is non-transferable. Hyatt reserves the right to alter or withdraw this promotion with a suitable substitute promotion of equal value (if legally required) at any time due to actual circumstances. This promotion is subject to the terms and conditions of the World of Hyatt program available at worldofhyatt.com/terms. To register “you must be a member of World of Hyatt” and the terms even add that you can join which hardly suggests being limited to a selected set of members (and then why would I be targeted when I’ve already re-qualified?).

The terms may just be sloppy though – it even talks about bonus points that this promotion will not earn (“Please allow two to three weeks after your qualifying stay for Bonus Points to be posted to your World of Hyatt account.”).

  1. What could be more annoying than already having (5) nights booked at one of these qualifying properties, which would have netted me (10) qualifying nights – only to have the hotel opening delayed, twice. Opening is now scheduled for past my needed stay dates 🙁

  2. Appears to be targeted. Globalist line confirming that for me, but maybe it’s early?

  3. In the list of dumb moves, Hyatt ending “10000 pts every 10 nights” bonus at 100 nights is right up on top.

Why would you want to tell customers who have stayed 100 nights that there are no more bonuses, go away? Hilton’s “10000 points every 10 nights” has no cap.

I already have 100 Hyatt nights this year, so this offer has no attraction for me. For the rest of the year I have moved stays away from Hyatt. In fact, tonight I am staying in a Kimpton even though there is a Hyatt right down the street.

  4. @Gary, go spend a night in the Driskill. You can get decent rates on Sunday and Monday. I live on Rainey, but it’s one of my favorite escapes!

  5. According to Hyatt, this promotion is not open to general public but rather to targeted companies (staff?). I would like to see if anybody successfully registered through a link that all bloggers starting blogging around a couple days ago.
