HOLD OFF ON ANY DELTA SKYMILES PARTNER ACTIVITY

They have apparently pulled the up to 150% bonus on partners.  Looks like they’re playing a real fast one here.  Unfortuantely I already transferred Diners Club points and they’ve posted to Skymiles, so I’m going to have to fight real hard for the bonus — because otherwise there’s no getting those points back into an account where points are worth anything.

Shame on Delta.  Shame, shame.

More over at Flyertalk.

(And thanks for the heads up, Carol.)

  1. Somehow this doesn’t surprise me. As I posed on Lucky’s blog earlier today, I had a hard time understanding Delta’s motivation behind this promotion.

Then again, even if this was a mistake and they didn’t intend this promotion to be as generous, I would hope that they honor the deal at least for those who already took action (which doesn’t include yours truly). Good luck!

  2. As posted in one of the threads on the subject, I encouraged people to call or write DL to confirm that they are in fact registered and will receive bonus miles on what has been or will be transferred in before the original DEC 31 date. I faxed them my plight, so I await a reply saying I am truly all set to go. Yes, we will have to fight to get the miles we think we deserve on promos here, and that’s typical of today’s schemes run by inept marketing departments often found at airlines. That’s what I do best here though, so hang tight! 🙂

  3. Just had shopping miles posted- A Zappo $60 purchase comes thru as 180 miles shopping and SM Bonus 180 miles….So the shopping counts for the promo and the Bonus doesn,t?? I thought I would net 900 miles–it looks like I wont…
BTW-I tried to cancel a 20k SPG transfer, SPG said they cound’t because it showed up with an “R” next to it meaning Delta redeemed it—-Funny, my Skymiles acct doesn’t show this…..I want to say something but will just say SHAME SHAME on Delta

  4. You should also avoid Delta Partners. On a recent trip Delta did not credit any Air France miles on a BOM/CDG leg of a BOM/CGD/ATL trip. On a prior trip on China Southern They only credited 20% of actual miles when their website promised a minimum of 40%. I send several letters and e-mails but to no avail.
This would have placed me within striking distance of Skymiles Gold and now I have motivation or feel any loyality to Delta on my Asian flights next year.
