Hyatt Gold Passport doesn’t offer all-inclusive rewards, but has done one of the very best jobs at offering an award that comes close to approximating it — Passport Escape which provides daily breakfast for two and a welcome amenity and 3 dinners on a 5-night stay or 5 dinners on a 7-night stay.
This is a great value option at pricey hotels and resorts for general members of the Gold Passport program and for Platinum members. For folks inclined to eat their meals at the hotel, 54,000 extra points on a full 7 night stay (it varies by 1000 points or so for category 3 through 7 hotels, and is less expensive at category 1 and 2 properties) buys 14 breakfasts and 10 dinners.
For resort hotels where breakfasts run $25 per person (or much higher) and dinners easily price out at $75 or more, since dinner includes “choice of appetizer, choice of salad or soup, choice of dinner entree with potato and vegetable, choice of dessert and choice of nonalcoholic beverage.”
Hyatt Gold Passport Diamond members already get complimentary breakfast (or lounge access where available) and a welcome amenity, so it’s not nearly as valuable for Diamonds except at properties where meals are exceptionally expensive, it can be a good Diamond value at the Park Hyatt in Paris still where the incremental benefit is just some dinners. If you don’t mind eating on-property, you’ll get a fantastic meal at a real discount.
Unfortunately this award option is being discontinued effective November 1.
You have through October 31 to book new Passport Escape awards or make changes to existing Passport Escapes award reservations, and those awards can be for travel dates well beyond November 1. So if you’ve been considering such an award, now is the time to jump on it.
Very sad to see this go. It turned out to be only about a break-even proposition for me at the Park Hyatt Maldives, breakfast is included for everyone (and I’d have received it as a Diamond member anyway) and dinners there turned out to be more reasonably-priced than I had expected. Plus I tended not to max out on the ordering even for my ‘free’ dinners, I found that in the heat I just wasn’t as hungry for the extensive courses I was entitled.
But for non-elites the loss of this award is a disappointment.
I think the breakfast is included for everyone at the Park Hyatt Maldives, elite or not.

This is disappointing. I had planned to take my daughter to Paris this past summer using this system but the trip had to be put on hold until next year due to her college schedule. I imagine this would have been more than worth it at the PH Vendome.
