In-Flight Surprise: British Airways Charging More For Food Than What’s Listed On Menus [Roundup]

News and notes from around the interweb:

  • British Airways charges higher prices for inflight food and drink than their seatback menus list because they raise prices and take their time updating menus.

[A flight attendant] told them to ignore prices published on the in-seat menu cards — as they had been increased that day.

And passengers were informed card payment readers had already been adjusted to charge the higher rates.

According to BA, “We’ve made some very small alterations to prices of snacks and drinks on our short-haul flights. These were scheduled changes and all on-board menus are in the process of being updated.”

  1. BA nickel and dimeing . Lufthansa formerly had a free lunch before boarding at FRA , to LHR … not sure about now ,

  2. I expect that there will be more hiccups reviving Mexicana. I had good flights on it in the 1980s and hope it can return to good service. Somewhere in the future it would be good to compare it to the other Mexican airlines and to USA and Canadian airlines.

  3. BA charging more than its advertised pricing
    Is that even legal?
Of course Bendover executive club with adios points is quite similar with their predatory redemption pricing and outrageous fess and surcharges
