LEAKED: It Looks Like We Know What Starwood’s Summer Promo Is

Between May 27 and September 4 it appears as though Starwood will be offering double points on weekdays and triple points on weekends under the marketing monkier “Take Three.”

Registration will be required by August 30th, but that and terms and conditions aren’t yet available because it appears the promotion shouldn’t yet be public.

It turns out that it was published on a hotel page’s promotion list however.

The promotion period matches Marriott’s new promotion exactly however whereas last quarter Starwood and Marriott synced up to offer the same promotions this time they diverge with Marriott focused on rewarding stays at different brands.

  1. Per this article above: “Registration will be required by August 30th, but that and terms and conditions aren’t yet available because it appears the promotion shouldn’t yet be public.”

  2. I’m not understanding how this is exactly like Marriott’s?

SPG is still insisting on 2 nights to get the bonus (Marriott’s kicks in on second stay but will trigger with one night after that?)

Marriott is a fixed bonus. SPG is a multiplier.

    Did I miss something?

  3. ^ Sorry I misread the post. I see you meant the timing was sync’d.

With most of my business stays a single night, Marriott is by far the better option for me here

  4. Hhonors Diamonds are simply getting triple points with no gap between promotions. SPG promos were weak just before the merger. Nowadays, such promos are even weaker…. I do miss the days of SPG PLT qualification gifts…

  5. I much preferred last years promotion of double night credits. Allowed me to get to Ambassador level instead of my usual 75 nights. Would love see that again.
