  1. Guess you didn’t read the whole article 🙂

“I get stories like hers on an almost-daily basis, from flight attendants who refuse to help you stow your luggage in the overhead bin because it’s against union rules…”

  2. @Phil the word union DID appear — good catch! And my bad, I read the story at 5 am 🙂 Although I still think union rules on helpfulness misses the point, it’s hard not to discuss seniority system, lack of merit pay, risk of job loss for poor performance as factors. And not to say the word “Asian airlines” in the piece, either. Still, I am sufficiently shamed…. 😛

  3. But why are you linking to Chris Elliot anyway? Is it to show us how a mediocre writer with less-than-mediocre insight can earn an income as a travel writer? Elliot can’t hold a candle to any of the “mainstream” bloggers, yet he probably earns more from his writing than you guys. Is there no justice in this world? 🙂

  4. I just want to second the comment from iahphx. Why would you want to subject your readers to Chris Elliot’s drivel?

  5. Hey Gary,

Thank you for linking that podcast link… This was something I was looking for since quite some time… Great podcast.

  6. re #1: the funny thing is if you don’t actually pay for a “parent membership”, you won’t be able to see the replies to your ad anyways…
