American Airlines Sued For Failing to Return Leased Aircraft

Keeping track of aircraft is hard. Three years ago American Airlines flew the wrong plane to Hawaii. The aircraft they flew wasn’t certified for extended overwater operations. There wasn’t actually anything unsafe about the decision, but it didn’t match the minimum equipment required. The airline simply dispatched the wrong aircraft by mistake.

Now comes word that American kept leased aircraft beyond the expiration date of their agreement according to a lawsuit filed by Wells Fargo in the Southern District of New York.

American’s President Says They Need to Fly Better Seats on Cross Country Flights – Hasn’t Figured Out How to Do It

American Airlines President Robert Isom held an employee town hall on Friday in Los Angeles.

A premium services employee asked about whether they’ll get lie flat seats on cross country flights, something her ConciergeKey customers are asking for, “they really are requesting the transcon like the New York flights.. this is just something we see all time.”

A passenger on board a Wizz Air flight from London Luton to Skopje on Sunday demanded a refund for the sandwich he purchased.

He’s Muslim. He bought a ‘turkey ham’ sandwich. It’s not turkey and ham. It’s ham-like meat made out of turkey. But midway through eating the 4.50 euro sandwich he decided it “didn’t taste like turkey.”

JetBlue’s Founder is Starting a New US Airline With $100 Million and 60 Planes

Dave Neeleman founded JetBlue after his non-compete from Southwest’s acquisition of Morris Air where he was CEO expired. During that non-compete period he was involved in the launch of Canada’s WestJet.

A citizen of Brazil as well as the U.S. (and also now of Cyprus), Neeleman launched Brazilian carrier Azul after being forced out at JetBlue. He’s also a partner in Star Alliance carrier TAP Air Portugal.
