News and notes from around the interweb:
- Aeroplan is selling miles with 100% bonus just 1.2 US cents per mile for purchases of 60,000-350,000 miles. This is the right price to seriously consider. At 1 and 1.1 cents per mile last year they set records and crashed the Points.com servers.
- Sri Lanka is suing Airbus over losses stemming from the plane manufacturer bribing airline officials (HT: AirInsight)
- Etihad Guest is promoting themselves to U.S. based members by specifically highlighting partner redemptions on American Airlines. Their award chart is great for non-stop flights, like pre-March 2016 AAdvantage devaluation pricing, but you have to find availability on American’s flights in the saver bucket which – for international premium cabin travel – is usually not possible.
- Citi ThankYou Rewards is offering a 25% bonus on transfers to Air France KLM Flying Blue until April 16, 2021. I would not make speculative transfers. You should open a Flying Blue account if you don’t have one, so that when you do eventually use the program for a transfer your account isn’t brand new. And if you haven’t earned and redeemed with them before, make bookings over the phone. These help reduce the risk of triggering fraud alerts.
- The new Transportation Secretary, just chillin’. No discussion of an infrastructure package going on, just walking the dogs.

- The body of the late President of Tanzania was loaded onto a plane in Dar es Salaam and crowds breached the tarmac.
Pilots cld not taxi their airplanes, aicraft on ground cld not be serviced, passengers cld not board or disembark on time,i suspect the whole #JNIAirport was closed during this time, its the biggest Airport security breach i've ever seen!🙆🏿♂️🙆🏿♂️🙅🏾♂️🙅🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ @breakingavnews @ErnestMushi3 pic.twitter.com/knkRAfrvQ7

I’m not sure if you usually write with snark…but perhaps you should have linked to the articles about the administration preparing a 3 trillion rollout infrastructure plan RIGHT NOW…instead of someone’s tweet.
lol I guess it’s become expected for people in the administration to talk endlessly, every moment when a camera is present, even if they have nothing to say at that moment, even when they are with their dog at a dog park?
I don’t see the content relating to booking AA awards at 2015 rates. Unless you mean *buying* miles at a reduced rate, which is a different thing, right?? If so, misleading title…
Oh, I see, it relates to the Ethiad offer. But it also says you can’t really do it because the awards aren’t usually available?? Ugh.
