One U.S. Airline Now Makes Passengers Certify Their Health Before Flying

On April 1 the President said that “they’re doing tests on airlines – very strong tests – for getting on, getting off.” It’s possible he was referring to taking passenger temperatures rather than administering COVID-19 tests. However even that isn’t happening broadly either.

Frontier doesn’t plan to start. Instead they’re making passengers promise to take their own temperatures and to wash their hands. And they’re asking flight crew to do the same.

One Airline Said They’d Waive Change Fees For Coronavirus. They’re Charging Them Anyway.

One airline appears to be reneging on their promise to waive ticket change fees – and it’s not even United Airlines. It’s Frontier.

Frontier had said “customers with existing reservations between March 3 and 16 would be allowed to change their flights or cancel them for a flight credit valid for 90 days, free of charge.” A 90 day credit isn’t very helpful if things progress on a medium- to bad trajectory, but this was something.

Delta Sends Private Plane for 79 Students and Teachers When Another Airline Cancelled Flight

A group of 79 from the Ocean City High School boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams were flying from Philadelphia to Orlando on Thursday to compete in Saturday’s Disney Cross Country Classic at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Their Frontier flight was cancelled, and Frontier said they wouldn’t be re-accommodated for six days (four days after the race was over). And no airline had enough seats for such a large group.

They thought the trip was off, but they tweeted at Delta — and two Delta agents met them as they were about to leave the airport: Delta would offer them a plane from Phiadelphia to Orlando.

The Worst Airline in America Hasn’t Shown Up at One Airport in Weeks, and No One Knows Why

Last summer I found that the worst airline in America, Via Air had an F-rating from the Better Business Bureau and 71% of their TripAdvisor reviews were poor or terrible, compared to 27% for Allegiant, 26% for United and 6% for Southwest.

Now, though, they aren’t just stranding customers. Their cutting flights. And they haven’t even shown up at one airport — and is ducking the airport’s calls and emails trying to find out why.
