Pakistani reports suggest that a $5 billion investment from Qatar could lead to Qatar Airways having a stake in and running Pakistan International Airlines and running the three largest airports in Pakistan, Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad.
Pakistan International Airlines has laid out a new rule for flight attendants that they must wear underwear not just while on duty but during layovers as well.. What’s more, airline “grooming officers” will be checking, “monitor[ing] cabin crew ‘at all times’” and will have to “report back if there is any ‘deviation’ from the rules.”

In the aftermath of the May 22 crash of a Pakistan International Airlines flight from Lahore to Karachi a preliminary investigation attributed the cause to pilot error and lack of professionalism. Cockpit crew talked throughout the journey about COVID-19 and its affect on their families, while ignoring standard operating procedures. 97 of the 99 passengers and crew on board were killed.
The investigation further revealed that more than 30% of pilots at the airlines have fake licenses and aren’t qualified to fly.
The cockpit crew had aborted the flight’s approach to the Karachi airport with landing gear issues, performed a go around, but then declared a Mayday reporting that they had lost both of the plane’s engines. The Airbus A320 crashed into a residential neighborhood.
Pakistan has taken a step farther than the rest of the world in the War on Plastic. Airlines flying to Pakstian are no longer allowed to use plastic cutlery inflight.
What’s more, airlines haveo been directed that they cannot transport cutlery in plastic sacks either and must instead wrap them in paper.
Saturday’s Pakistan International Airlines flight PK702 from Manchester, U.K. to Islamabad was delayed nearly 7 hours when a passenger wanted to go to the bathroom.
A woman seated towards the rear of the Boeing 777 thought the plane’s exit door was the lavatory. She opened the armed rear left door, deploying the emergency slide.
Passengers were chanting and one did the only thing he could do to express his frustration and feel like he had some control over the situation: he set his luggage on fire.

So what happens when a Paris – Islamabad flight was delayed on August 3rd, it was hot outside, and there’s no working air conditioning on the plane? The aircraft doors were closed for a couple of hours. And passengers onboard flight PK750 were in extreme discomfort. Indeed, “a mother was begging for to open the door and to save her child who was completely unconscious when the air conditioning system was completely off” according to at least one report.
There’s footage from onboard the plane “show[ing] a woman pleading with the airline staff to open the door as her infant was experiencing breathlessness before take off.”
