Yesterday’s Philippine Airlines Los Angeles – Manila flight declared a mayday and returned to the airport with its right engine releasing bursts of flames. The Boeing 777-300 was carrying 342 passengers and 18 crew. It was in its initial climb out when the right engine began surging. It returned to the same runway it had departed from 12 minutes earlier.

Patrisha Organo is a flight attendant for Philippine Airlines. On Tuesday she was scheduled for her check flight in order to qualify as a Cabin Crew Evaluator. On board a baby was crying. She approached the mother. The baby was hungry, but she didn’t have any formula.
She never once claimed to only be there for the flight’s safety.
New Security Footage Shows Worst Aviation Disaster in History Narrowly Averted
On July 7 of last year Air Canada Flight 759 from Toronto to San Francisco was cleared to land on runway 28L. It lined up to land on taxiway C instead, which had four planes on it waiting for take off.
The NTSB released security camera footage of the Air Canada Airbus A320 about to touch down on the taxiway.
British Airways Finally Joining PreCheck
British Airways has finally joined PreCheck.
Notably though that’s not a help at New York JFK where terminal 7 doesn’t currently have PreCheck. Hopefully British Airways passengers with PreCheck will be afforded expedited screening.
