Earlier today Delta was adding significant fees to some transatlantic award tickets. This was reportedly broadly. It looks to have been a glitch, they’ve stopped doing it, but with Delta you never know if today’s glitch is just an enhancement they intend to roll out tomorrow.

Naval Pilot Drew a Penis in the Sky
Many young boys dream of growing up to be pilots. Some of them become pilots without ever giving up being 15 year old boys.
The FAA for their part says “they’re powerless to act unless the incident poses a safety risk.” And furthermore, they “cannot police morality.” There’s no word from the naval aviator’s superior officer at this point, however.
Fare Alert: $998 Business Class Roundtrip New York – Paris
La Compagnie — the all (angled seat) business class airline running flights between New York and Paris — has a phenomenal sale, $1000 roundtrip Newark – Paris.
This is valid through the end of the schedule but you have to buy by Tuesday, November 21.
oneworld’s Head of Finance Allegedly Stole $2.2 Million
oneworld business manager Randy Wang, who was temporarily head of finance for the airline alliance, is being sued for stealing over $2.2 million.
oneworld has about two dozen employees but was charged for over 500 computer items costing $2 million. And, apparently, questionable internal controls.
All New Wines Worth Tasting in the San Francisco Centurion Lounge
The one ‘special feature’ I enjoy most out of American Express U.S. lounges is the “wine wall” in San Francisco. I never drink wine onboard in domestic first class, and don’t touch the house wines in US airline lounges. I love nice wines but don’t drink for its own sake.
The great thing about the wine wall is that they serve better wines than you’d expect in a lounge and it’s an opportunity to be introduced to some new bottles you may not have tried before.
United’s Pilot Pimp Escapes Jail Time
Last year Houston-based United Airlines pilot Bruce Wayne Wallis was arrested for running “a string of brothels in apartment complexes throughout Houston.”
He had “a half-dozen brothel apartments with six to 10 women in each one.” The women paid him “$400 a week to ply their trade.”
American Airlines New Iceland Flight Undermines Their Case Against Emirates, Etihad, and Qatar
American Airlines will launch seasonal Dallas Fort Worth – Reykjavik service next summer. This is the third non-stop in the market following Wow Air and Icelandair. This is a purely leisure route where two ultra low cost carriers have already entered the market. And both Wow Air and Icelandair offer connections beyond Iceland while American Airlines does not.

Two People Got Married Inside an American Airlines Admirals Club This Morning
Asking someone to marry you inflight is seriously overdone. El Al even lets you redeem miles for an inflight marriage proposal kit. Getting married on a plane is a little better.
There’s no real reason you have to tie the knot up in the air though. Because if you can clear security, you might as well get married inside your airline’s lounge like Julie Kay & Vince Bonnetti did this morning in Nashville!
Booking Throwaway Tickets to Reduce the Price of Star Alliance Awards
ANA is a Star Alliance airline based in Japan. For the most part you can use their miles to redeem the same awards you can get with United miles, but they charge fewer miles for those awards. And American Express Membership Rewards points transfer to ANA.
And while ANA does add fuel surcharges to awards, those are very low or non-existent for flights to Japan and North Asia and they don’t add fuel surcharges to awards on Air Canada, Air New Zealand, or Etihad. Yes, they partner with Etihad and other airlines outside of Star Alliance too. Cancelling and redepositing miles costs just 3000 miles (rather than cash).
