Marriott and United Cross-Selling Through Chase With Double Points and Miles

United and Marriott offer reciprocal benefits copying to some extent what Starwood and Delta introduced as Crossover Rewards. It’s an open question with the Marriott acquisition of Starwood whether an exclusive airline relationship with United or Delta would survive.

Chase issues both the United co-brand card and the Marriott card. Chase will continue to issue personal cards for Marriott under the new program that’s expected in 2019, with American Express offering a premium personal card and business cards.

So it’s not surprising to see United and Marriott working together through Chase. Here’s an offer that encourages Marriott customers to buy United, and United customers to stay Marriott: Chase is offering double points or miles for Marriott and United credit card holders when they buy travel from the opposite provider between March 15 and April 15.

  • Marriott cardholders get double points on airline tickets purchased directly from United
  • United cardholders get double miles on stays purchased directly from Marriott

You must be a cardholder by April 1 to qualify, and must register by April 15.

  1. Thanks! I’ve just registered in response to the above. However, it’s probably moot for me because I still have $3800 left of spending @ 10 pp$ on my Chase Marriott intro offer 🙂 !
