Female British Airways flight attendants no longer have to wear skirts.
Legacy flight attendants assigned to British Airways’ “Worldwide” fleet could wear pants already. “Mixed fleet” — flight attendants hired over the past 6 years for lower pay, and as a broad generalization that I find provide far better service — required women to wear skirts.
Clearly the role of the flight attendant has changed over time and societal attitudes have changed too.
American and Qantas were drumming up excitement for their enhanced joint venture back in the fall, and that included talk of reciprocal upgrades across the two airlines. AAdvantage President Suzanne Rubin told the Sydney Morning Herald that reciprocal upgrades with Qantas “is certainly a topic of conversation.”
Talks about reciprocal upgrades have apparently gotten serious enough that the CEO of Qantas is openly talking about them.

Donald Trump’s plane made an emergency landing in Nashville on Wednesday “after reporting engine problems.”
The FAA is investigating the incident, but like the Singapore Airlines emergency landing in Bali, passengers onboard the Boeing 757 probably just ate Trump Steaks.
American is making at least 2 business class seats available on their new Los Angeles – Auckland flight which launches June 22 about half of the time between June 25 and September 7, although only about four times after that through the current end of schedule.
There’s a similar amount of availability in the other direction from Auckland to Los Angeles, and that stretches through mid-October.

For the past year American has had frequently updated playlists of Indie musicians for both its boarding and arrival music.
