  1. That’s OK. We have a Supreme Court Justice who can’t define what a woman is either. Maybe that person is self identifying as a pilot.

  2. I’d be curious to know the number of deadhead segments flown by pilots.

Or maybe the ratio of deadheads to commutes. I’d be willing to bet that the latter far surpasses the former and that most people whining about the policy don’t know the difference.

  3. Ha Ha … a skateboard and a roller bag . I do imagine such a quick person occasionally , and now it has come true . She will also be first off the airplane after skateboarding down the aisle .

  4. i paid for a full fare first class ticket..the guy who took the pic Michael Dean was upset i guess because he did not get an upgrade..if he wanted to sit in first class he should have bought a ticket like me.

  5. Gosh David, is that the SCOTUS getting his trips on a private jet by a “friend?”

Let’s try and stay on topic and focus on flying.

  6. He probably paid for his F tix using an airline employee ID90 fare, which is like 90% off the tix price….vs the PP who paid the full Y fare. I sincerely doubt he paid the full F fare

  7. @ Michael – that’s great, and you’re right about the upset passenger. However, it’s probably best for all involved if you could change out of uniform on such occasions.

  8. That picture of people waiting in line is a Delta Sky Club. Just note that they will let you right in if you are in F.

  9. No I did not use what is known as an ID 90 in the industry..I paid full fare as I bought the tickets over 9 months ago for a good price..and I use my Credit card to up my benefits just like other people. It seems every one these days feel that they are entitled to what others have.
Also I do not have to change out of my uniform

  10. *Free* Upgrade. Doesn’t mean guaranteed. If you want to guarantee a FC seat – BUY IT!
Why do employees constantly have to justify themselves to you? You have ZERO information as why or how they were assigned that seat. And it’s just like VFTW to give this nonsense airtime.

  11. “No I did not use what is known as an ID 90 in the industry..I paid full fare as I bought the tickets over 9 months ago for a good price..and I use my Credit card to up my benefits just like other people. It seems every one these days feel that they are entitled to what others have.

    Nothing wrong with this.
Plenty of inexpensive domestic first class tickets 9 months out. You look silly in that uniform though. Polyester vest and short sleeve dress shirt ick.

Anyway at least you didn’t where the Yoga pants like last time.

  12. It would be interesting to know if the gate agent allowed the skate board on board as a second carry-on ? Looks like the international-Bradley terminal at LAX , so perhaps she if flying internationally ?

  13. Ok . You fools . I know these two
FA’s . They’re not pilots . They’re a couple who commute from PIT-PHL . They bought their FC seats at a discounted rate . We can do that as crew . So please mind your business. Stop assuming .

  14. Well, it’s not realistic to expect people to not assume. It’s human nature. No uniform, the assumption will be they’re paid passengers and there’ll be no fuss. Good for them, good for passengers, good for their employer. And it’s easy enough to do. Optics matter whether we like it or not.

  15. Yes optics matter..but so do facts..this guy just makes a statement with no facts..he could have asked..to go around and make false assumptions is wrong and misleading..I am not the bad guy. The guy that thought he should be in first class is the problem..you want to sit in first pay the price..he stated he was a platinum pro pax with American airlines..well that gets you about 20 on the upgrade list..if he was so concerned he should have asked

  16. Maybe the headline should read
“Passenger is upset that a flight attendant bought a first class ticket”

Because that’s the facts..to use a picture of me to try and get views is shameful

  17. You people have no idea what has taken place when a crewmember is in first class. Like when I flew Tokyo and we had a choice of the bunk or a first class seat reserved for us on our rest break. Some guys took the bunk, others took the seat as they chose whatever gave them the best rest…..or would you rather have the pilot in the middle seat in couch and be falling asleep while on final approach at 1am their body clock into Narita. Need to mind your own business

  18. Of course, the guy who Tweeted that picture is unequivocally in the wrong, and owe you and your partner a public apology.

  19. It’s Delta, so if you’re in business class you get straight in (just like you board first before the elites in economy). Delta knows how to deliver good service.

The picture is of the line for the credit card cockroaches.

  20. Great that they paid for their fares. Even if they hadn’t and the frequent flyer posting this had been correct that wouldn’t be the employees’ fault. It would be the fault of the airline. Honestly though, this is beyond terrible optics for AA. No one who sees an employee in uniform in first is going to assume that it was a purchased seat. Literally no one. I’m kind of shocked that AA hasn’t made a policy that you can’t travel in uniform on purchased FC seats. Again, this is not the employees fault at all, but geez… the optics are UG-LY.

  21. I feel like pretty much anywhere you’re not supposed to be hanging around your place of employment in uniform when you’re not working. It just confuses the customers.

  22. ID90 tickets are standby, behind any revenue upgrades. Learn what you’re talking about before opening your mouth.

  23. There sure are a lot of FAs in this thread who are reinforcing what we all know which is that American has been totally captured by a culture of infinitely entitled FAs who view it as an unlimited free transportation service for themselves and perceive passengers as an intrusion.

One way to avoid feeding into this perception is for flight attendants to obey the well-justified rule that they never speak or have opinions at any time. SHUT UP AND POUR THE DRINKS.

  24. Hey Gary Leffffff,
Why don’t you just spend a half million and learn to fly (easy) then get a couple of Jet type ratings (not so easy) then a brilliant Engrish major like yourself can “self identify” as. Pile ut. Good luck getting a job with a major airline as you probably can’t identify as a DEI applicant. Then again, soft science majors like yourself can usually slip in claiming some sort of “ underprivileged” status.

  25. Soo…must be other FAs defending these clowns. So what if they paid for their seats, they basically got an automatic upgrade with their 90% off whereas the customers who were expecting upgrades because they chose this airline and the specific upgrade program who have to compete find themselves competing not just with other customers but now are behind automatic upgrades for every single airline employee….kinda makes you want to change airlines when you see this backwards treatment of customers. Employees should only receive preferential treatment when all eligible customers paying full fare in a class that is upgrade eligible have been upgraded!

  26. 90% off a first class rate is less than economy passengers are paying for full rate economy. I’d be pissed off too of I had paid for business class and saw scumbags get lower fare and better seats than me just because they are employees, meanwhile my upgrade is denied because of this….looking for new airline that values its customers more than its employees….

  27. James like I have stated before..I bought full fare tickets just like anyone else can..soo I don’t know with this 90% off info.

  28. MICHAEL F PIZUTTI – while you may not HAVE to change, the simple fact is you look like entitled trash. That is the image we will take away from you and your shoddy representation of your appalling company. Do better.

  29. Hello all. Just a technicality / clarification – AA does offer employees the ability to purchase confirmed tickets at 20% off, not 90%…. ID90 is a service allowing airline employees to travel on other airlines via standby at a nominal charge.

I’ve traveled quite a bit this year via confirmed bookings and have obtained platinum. On the rare occasion I do get upgraded or book in first, I’ll always try to throw on a sweater or something a little more incognito when traveling to/from work just to avoid these types of photos and online postings (assuming I don’t have an opportunity to change before said flight).

  30. PATHETIC is definitely the word for travellers who stand in line to enter an airline lounge. Seriously? You’re so braindead that you can’t figure out a way to spend your time at an airport enjoyably and/or productively? Mooooooo, say the placid cows standing in line for their ‘free’ dinner.
