Customers are unhappy with Southwest for adding checked bag fees and generally walking back their entire differentiated business model, laying off employees for the first time, and going back on the CEO’s word from just a few months ago about what they had planned.

It’s the perfect time for competitors to capitalize on that dissatisfaction – but this takes it to the next level, and also qualifies as expert trolling. I love it!

$23 Extra Charge For Booking Frontier Airlines Tickets Online Looks a Lot Like Tax Fraud

You can only buy tickets in-person at limited hours, but you can’t buy tickets during those hours. That means there’s no real option to buy them in person, which means that booking online isn’t a choice customers are making, and therefore the web booking fee is not optional. Yet Frontier still excludes these charges from their domestic airfare excise tax calculation.

Frontier Airlines Passenger Punches Window Until It Cracks After His Flirting Is Rejected—Tied Up With Belts And Shoelaces

The incident began about 20 minutes into Flight 4856, as he tried to engage the woman seated in the row in front of him. She wasn’t interested, and punched the seat and the plane’s window beside him. As he banged on the window he yelled in several language.

Cracks could be seen – along with his blood – on the window. Several men onboard subdued him using makeshift restraints fashioned from shoestrings, belts, and headphones.

Bankrupt and Desperate—Spirit Airlines Just Killed A $2.9 Billion Deal To Build America’s 5th Largest Airline

The parties are not far off here! Spirit’s creditors are likely better off with some combination, under new management, than with the standalone turnaround plan. I would have assumed they see this and are negotiating for more rather than actually walking away. Yet Spirit’s bondholders indicated they would not extend the NDAs, effectively preventing further negotiations​.
