Singapore Airlines is offering business class award space between New York JFK and Frankfurt over the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and then most days in 2024 through end of the schedule.
If a seating arrangement is so untenable that a customer downgrades inflight, it does seem reasonable that the difference in fare should be refunded. The discomfort was because of the dog and their owner, but it’s an arrangement that’s still the responsibility of the airline, and the passengers who moved certainly didn’t get the product or experience that they paid for.
Starting in July – through end of March 2024 (!) – you’ll frequently find four or more business class award seats per flight on Singapore Airlines between New York JFK and Frankfurt. And these flights aren’t bookable just using Singapore’s miles, they’re available if you want to spend Air Canada Aeroplan points as well – which will save you miles.
Right now San Francisco – Singapore non-stop has amazing award availability as well. There are numerous dates where there are 8 award seats available, when booking into the future. In fact there are days where both of Singapore’s daily A350-900 San Francisco non-stops have 8 award seats available.
Singapore Airlines does a very nice job making premium cabin award seats available to its own members, often close to departure but almost certainly booked far into the future. The best availability for non-stop awards to Singapore from San Francisco is September – November right now.
Ignore the exoteric meaning of the campaign, and dig deeper for a more Straussian esoteric meaning. Look to the specific language in the video, and the cabin imagery.
There’s even better availability than before on the New York JFK – Frankfurt route in business class. There’s award space for a whole family, not just for a couple, and in some cases for an entire homeowner’s association.
And I’m highlighting it because the availability underscores some principles about Singapore Airlines award space that are worth understanding.

Right now though their award availability is exceptional across several routes, both from the U.S. to Asia and also from the U.S. to Europe.
For instance, San Francisco – Singapore non-stop has the floodgates completely open between July and October, not just for the normal 2 passengers where you’ll frequently see space but for many more than that.
A passenger who shouted vulgarities at cabin crew on a Singapore Airlines flight was handed over to police. According to the airline the altercation began when crew refused to serve the man alcohol. It’s not only in the U.S. where passengers melt down over alcohol.
