Tear Jerker: Parents Fly Business Class For First Time After Daughter’s Surprise Upgrade

On September 15 Ishpreet Kaur went to the airport to travel with her parents. They were all flying economy. However she got the three of them upgraded to business class. It was the first time her parents had flown business in their lives, and something they’ve always wished they could experience. Her father appears giddy.

But for her it was something more than just being able to give this experience to her parents. It was the pride in their eyes, seeing their daughter as having made it to the point that she could do this for them. It was simultaneously doing something for people she loved, and a milestone moment in parental validation.

Their first flight was Air India 636 from Indore to Mumbai. It’s unclear what their connecting destination was, though they were flying onward because they talk about six boarding passes.

Kaur is an online success guru and follower of chiropractor Joe Dispenza but whatever else her efforts got her the ability to bring an experience to her parents that they’d never been in a position to do for themselves, and in the process instantiating the one thing parents want for their children which is to see your kids succeed beyond what you’ve been able to accomplish.

  1. So a thoughtful daughter upgraded her parents on a 50 min flight….that’s great! While a nice story how is this worthy of this page? Slow news day Gary?

  2. A nice thing to do. I would like to be in business or first class to be able to lie flat on long flights. But if I was able to pay all that extra money and still not be able to sleep I would be upset!

  3. I read her post to indicate they were all flying on to the U.S. in business class — not just the first leg.

It may be a slow news day, but we all spend plenty of time complaining about airlines, FAs, airports, airline food, and crowded lounges. A sweet, happy story is good every once in a while 🙂

  4. They were flying to New York JFK after connecting in Mumbai. They gave away too much information with the photo of the boarding passes out of curiosity to see if still searchable went on air india website entered last name & pnr and boom the details came up with their full names and all. Shows their economy seat bookings. Should’ve concealed it!

  5. It’s unfortunate that you link to a hit piece on Dr. Joe written by someone who clearly has never practiced any of his meditations…and not to one of the hundreds of testimonials from people whose lives has been transformed by his teachings and meditations. Sorry but have to stand up for someone who is doing so much good for humanity at a time when the world needs it most!
