New and notes from around the interweb:
- The World Of Hyatt Credit Card now bonuses participating SLH hotels spend like Hyatt spend.
- 100% bonus converting Wyndham points to United through August 15 (HT: Loyalty Lobby)
- Some years ago I wrote an intro guide to eating at Singapore hawker centers. I love basic introductory guides that help you feel at ease in unfamiliar food settings, so wanted to highlight introductory tips for a Japanese omakase sushi meal. Gib and I shared a sushi meal together in New York last summer.
Sushi is a personal favorite, here are some great meals I’ve had in Tokyo, the best in my home town of Austin and Chicago finally has an amazing sushi experience.
- Metro-North Track 61 behind the Waldorf-Astoria in New York
- The new Sheraton logo is rolling out to hotels
- Hilarious WestJet safety briefing I missed when it made the rounds several weeks ago (HT: Jonathan W.)
- The economics of private jets (or, as I’ve written why teams of Walmart middle managers fly private)
Private jet travel can make great sense even if the political optics are tough especially when traveling between small cities on a tight schedule.
Walmart operates a fleet a private jets, not for their top executives but for middle managers traveling from Bentonville, Arkansas to stores in remote towns all over the country. It allows them to visit more than one store in a day versus taking two to three days per store.
Wendover Productions (the YouTube channel) which has the video about private jets also has some great other videos on aviation like “ how airports make money
“
@William – I link to many of their new ones as they come out
