News and notes from around the interweb:
- Cheap intra-Europe coach awards via United’s MileagePlus starting at 6,000 miles – when there was a published award chart, non-stop trips up to 800 miles cost 8,000 miles.
- Holly Hegeman is writing again
- Delta’s new premium check-in at LAX has opened. It’s basically what I wrote was happening back in August 2021. I actually prefer the aesthetic of the American-BA premium check-in at New York JFK but as I noted in my review that one lacks refreshments.
- Wifi will be free for passengers in all cabins starting July 1 meanwhile their CEO accepts responsibility for coach meals that haven’t met passenger expectations, where is United’s CEO on business class meals that don’t meet passenger expectations even?
- More in-person recognition from United for the win.
Recently when boarding a flight, @United Airlines surprised me at the gate by having a customer service rep meet me and hand me a card and certificate for passing 1 million miles on the upcoming flight, so cool! 😊 pic.twitter.com/xXrAiI6b6k

- Remember when it seemed like one positive out of the pandemic was that we’d keep better cleaning regimens? It should be far easier to do in-airport on the ground than on planes, even.
The @Delta Sky Club in Atlanta is totally gross. Four Clorox wipes and the chair is still dirty. People pay a lot to come here. Do better Delta. Seriously gross! #Eww #dirty #gross #Delta pic.twitter.com/uqIlichE07

Great round up.
While I have no love for Delta (or what I hear of their club mess), those wipes are just running some of the leather finish off, not gross grime. Try a Clorox wipe on your own leather couch and compare.
While UNITED is rising, yes its business and first class meals need further upgrades
I’ve been booking those United partner awards all over – helped some Ukrainian friends get back and forth from Germany and Italy to Poland (last minute, too) and have used it to get to my final destination when transatlantic award availability is thin and I fly to a different city.
Very glad to see Holly writing again- big fan of hers 🙂
Lol @ Fake Greg. The only thing that is rising at United is award redemptions…
